I like the sun too, even though i usually have to wear shades, i like its warmth on my skin. But left to my own devices, i tend to drift to a night owl schedule. I think my own pattern has very different causes than yours, but it is a trend with me, no less. And I too can say that i prefer being up at night and doing things then, than during the day. From what you say, it sounds like there is not just night-sleep avoidance (albeit perhaps a determining factor), but that you also prefer doing your stuff in the night? is that right? that is how it is with me.

How to reconcile with getting sunlight? Hmmm. That is a problem. However, I don't feel confused by it. I do realize that I can't have both... quite. I can compromise somewhat with a rotating schedule which happens to me a lot anyway... trying to fit in with the rest of the world. Or, if one could pick a fixed schedule, a compromise would be to be up during some part of the day. since we only need 8-ish hours of sleep, that could work. The only trouble is doing that with a full time job. Especially in winter when there are fewer daylight hours.

Anyway, fwiw, I just wanted to say i can relate to both things. Liking the sun, yet choosing and enjoying the night.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler

sending you warm, sunny thoughts. :):hug:
