Default Weekend Check in Thread: Dec 20 How are you?

Hi,

I hope that you had a good weekend and are looking forward to the week.
It's chilly-ish here with 68F for Sunday afternoon.

I was home on Saturday trying to calm myself down about sleep.
I have depression for a few hours and then I calm myself back to not depressed. Maybe I will sleep soon and then work on trying to organize some stuff.

What are you up to?

Mari

Default going and going and going and going and....

right now, i finally am getting to sit down now after cooking all morning and washing up all afternoon. i am not slow at it - not at all - just used a lot of stuff! Dad is seeming appreciative of the results though, which makes me happy. And mom too... relatively... in her bossy shoulda coulda way which confirms her improved wellbeing! Dad and i chuckled about how she's already tying to direct traffic bigtime.

we will probably call the doc about the antibiotic because her fever has improved markedly but not so much the respiratory sx... i will spare you the finer details in that regard. TMI.

Hockey, Donna
... how do you take care of a family AND FIND THE TIME to shower?????????????????

Well, actually, it is very positive that you are able to calm yourself out of being depressed even for just a while at a time. I am glad you have those moments of relief. Good job.

sounds good. nighty nap! and good luck with the organizational stuff.

Default confusion reigns

Waves,
I'm doing something weird -- dunno what it is.

I'm not asleep yet.

I started to go to bed several times. Finally I started reading a book and that got me stimulated.
I am half considering staying up all day until night to get back on track for a more reasonable sleep time.

But moving times means that one has a time to move.
Right now I sleep as long as it is not anywhere a time that used to be near my sleep time.

And I can't stay up more than I am already in order to set my clock because I am deprived.

Sleep doc is tomorrow. I wonder if I will be an more exhausted than when I saw her on Friday.

I am doing pretty well. Gonna be 41 in a few days, and Monday I have a lot to do, but Tuesday I just have to get the leg. CANNOT wait!!! Wednesday we gotta go to gainesville for a dental cleaning for the kiddo, should be good. I just hope that he lets them do what they have to do when we go, he's been fiesty lately probably because of the holidays.

I hope that my prosthetist can adjust the socket so it's not so painful to walk. When I went in last Wednesday it hurt like heck to put weight on it right on my pelvis, and he is pretty sure he can take it down some more and we won't lose vacuum, so time will tell. If he is successful is manipulating it to be better for me painwise I will probably go right to walking with a cane, otherwise it's gonna be crutches. And I don't want that. I want to use a cane for awhile and then be done with it quickly. But then I want it all QUICKLY-it's so hard to be patient.

But that's where I am at right now.

Dear Mari,

I really hope the hypnosis session tomorrow helps. Perhaps after you will be more relaxed and more able to sleep or nap.

Changing a sleep schedule is incredibly hard. And being deprived and depressed is even harder. It is a bit of a catch 22. One technique often proposed is that of moving your waking clock forward by 15 mins until you "flip over" gradually. but that would entail sleeping all day at some point. I love how these people who come up with these "techniques" don't consider the fact that someone has to show up to things like WORK while they are "fixing their schedule" ... as if we could go off on some other astral plane and fix our schedule while our bodies just stayed here and ... ? and what?

IMHO, the most important thing, considering your overall health and mood right now, is for you to get sleep, in naps, long, short, whatever, whenever you can get it, i.e. when you have both inclination and opportunity. I'm sorry that reading was too stimulating, go figure. that happens to me though sometimes - with me, it depends on what i read.

Ummm... are you also seeing your sleep doc tomorrow? Am i missing something, or was that just a typo - i realize you were referring to your tdoc in regard to the friday appointment.

Hi everyone.

Derrick went to the movies yesterday with my daughter in law and her two older daughters. And then he had invited his girlfriend, which it turned out
her family was working at the theatre on this night. I had already wondered
if they might be. But didn't know. But this is good because he got to have
a date scheduled on Friday night.

And today we are watching some of the movies she got him for christmas.
And some other ones that were on the 25 days of christmas channel today.

But I seem to have caught a cold since going to the doctor on Friday. But
it was so weird not a sign of it when I was at the doctor's office. But it
was bad yesterday and its been bad today. But I think its getting better.

So at least my asthma isn't acting up too. I reallly still have a couple of
things I need to finish doing so I really hope to feel better soon.

I have to find my mother a present yet.

Donna

Dear Pam

i hope the prosthetist can make that socket fit more comfortably for you! let us know how the appointment goes.

Dear Donna

I hope you start feeling better soon. Good luck finding your mom a gift. I still need to get something for my dad. He doesn't want gifts - he is boycotting gifts (not giving/doesn't want either) but i want to just get him a little something all the same, so i have been looking.

Dear Pam,
I can see why you want it done right now quickly. It's hard waiting for something like this.
The time will go by when you need it.

Dear Waves,
Yes, I mistyped sleep doc / tdoc.
I don't feel so good. I should have stayed up. The nap made me feel yucky.

Dear Donna,
What is the family channel you mention? I wonder if we get that channel?
I hope that your cold goes away quickly.

I might not pass my class due to my paper being submitted late. I hate those reference pages I have to put together. They are so time consuming. I am at the moment running on two hours of sleep due to school crunch time. I feel like making some cookies! But that will have to wait till tommorow. I have to pack for my trip tommorow for New YORK! in a few more days I will get married! I leave Tuesday. My honey is sick I hope he feels better by the time I get there.

I love my car and I love driving it. I just love driving around and all over town it makes me so happy and I feel so free. I have to say I wish I could bring it to New York so I can just drive around. But that would be crazy!

I am free from school for a good few weeks! I am happy for that! But I have 12 credits to take in the winter sememster after new Years! ACK!

But I can do it! I will make myself do it at this rate. I found a good coffee shop to study at. I got a lot done there last time so I will do it from now on.

hurray for solutions! I just hope i keep at it. I usually stop and then hate myself later for it. lol

It has been a great weekend. just very busy with school and work that is why.

Sharla
