Thank you Beth and Mari. A couple of my neighbors shoveled my walkway today and someone cleaned off my car today. I am liking it here already.

My power went out for hours today, but I had telephone service. I disconnected the cordless phone, and connected a old phone with a cord, and no battery so I could make a call.

I had light, radio, and a advanced Catalytic Combustion Coleman Portable propane heater that was made to be able to be used indoors. This was my first attempt to use that heater today, and it worked. I've had it in storage for about 6,or 7 years. I had eight little cylinders of propane, and only used 1/2 of one.

The power is still on,thank goodness. BF:hug::hug::hug: PS I had my carbon monoxide detector behind my head.

Dear Steve,

That's good the power is back on.
Maybe the snow will be calmer for the rest of the winter.

Beth, I don't know who cleaned off my car but will try to find out so I can do something nice for them.

Steve, we are expecting some more wintery weather tomorrow and this weekend. How about you? Some one got stuck outside in my parking lot this morning as it is still bad outside. I hope I don't lose my current tomorrow when we get the sleet. I'm not prepared if we do. I should get some kind of propane heater myself for such occasions. I have a grill.

I bought this propane heater at Target years ago. It's spacifically made to be used on the inside of a house. It has fans to ventilate the heat around the area. The fan runs on two size D batteries.

Yes. We are suppose to get a wintery mix of snow, and rain tomorrow. We are suppose to get snow this weekend to. I wonder how our forefathers lived through it. I guess they made use of fire places, and burned alot of wood.

If you buy a propane heater, make sure it's a heater that is designed to be used inside. Also make sure that you have a carbon monoxide detector. BF :hug::hug:

Thank you Bizi. I've thought alot about the subject. These Virginia Ice storms are horrible.

Thank you for the compliment. BF:hug::hug::hug:

BF, thank you for the tip on heaters.

I have not been anywhere since Friday as I do not know how to drive on this ice. I am going to have to get out before Friday to get some more food and drink though. I hear this weekend's storm will be as bad as the last one.
