Default Hi waves

Will keep plants covered through monday. My yard really is a jungle and was designed for privacy. This is a tourist hot spot, and I could have that privacy steps from the beach. However...this jungle will eat me up alive if not controlled. It gets beat back on a regular basis!!!!
Have a good day waves, I hope your troubles get better soon, (mine too) ginnie

Red face

44 right now with a 17 mph wind bringing the windchill temp to 36 degrees. very chilly for here! no snow so can't really complain much with others dealing with snow and much much colder temperatures.
IT is sunny out so that is good!

Ginnie,

i would uncover the plants as soon as the temps go back to normal because if they are covered and it is warm it will be a big jolt for them, and they will have an even bigger jolt than that procured by the sudden temperature dip.

i hope you feel better too. i am having troubles with the coughing now too... getting hyperreactive ... and i haven't been sick or anything like that! i hate not knowing anything. feels like too many things out of control.

maybe that's why i had to peel all those peppers today... for a sense of control??

Bizi,

i actually like those kinds of temps ... cold enough to wear boots and scarves ... my favorite items of clothing ... but warm enough that you don't FREEZE UR BUTTTTT walking 10 paces outside the door.

glad it was sunny for you... that does help. i always found something nice about bright, slightly nippy days... find them refreshing... energizing somehow.

Default Hi waves

You are right about the plants. I actually am taking the sheets off during the day in the 50's and then covering tonight, tomorrow night and monday morning. Will have sheets off each day during the warmer parts.
Had a couple come by to help me prune back this yard. It was so overgrown the last couple to look at the house, their jaws dropped down. So I am bartering for their help. My son came over to help too. There were five of us, and boy did we do a good job. I have some antique furnature from my parents. When I move I won't have room for the things anyway. Wish the world would go back to this barter system. Today was a good one, and it was sunny and a bit chilly. I could never do it in 95 degree weather!
Hope you have calmed down too waves. This serequel, has slowed my jets but good. Last night I slept for the first time well in a month. This bi-polar manic state is weird. I guess change, and painful change at that, can set it off.
I wish calm thoughts your way right now. ginnie

Dear Ginnie,

you are taking good care of your plants. yes bartering can be very handy. but if more people used it don't worry - the governments would soon find a way to tax it. :ee:

manic episodes can occur spontaenously but can also be triggered by psychosocial trauma. I'm glad the Seroquel is working well for you!

Default Hi waves

[The government and me arn't on good terms right now. I have voted in every election my whole life. I don't think I ever will again. Thinking about the Gov. will make me manic! mad too.... I would not be loosing my home if the Gov. had let me keep what my parents set aside to pay my taxes and insurance on a paid for home. They ignored a legal document, that is medicare office and disability people. I lost all faith in our gov. after that. ginnie

I did say governments ... plural. i was not referring specifically to the US.

it's a general thing. i don't know a government that doesn't apply taxes one way or another.

and as bureaucracy goes, there are flaws and loopholes, and people fall through the gaps. those who can make money twirl on a whim can cushion a fall. the less fortunate, and those with complex situations can end up falling on their face.

i'm afraid i expect, at some point, to fall on my face. :Nooo:

we can perhaps be grateful we both live in civilized areas, where we are allowed to say these things, without being shot just for complaining.

Default complex situation

Yes, I had a complex situation, several lawyers, a trust, and bad health. Yes I fell on my face, but I do have NT. This is the place to be, for support and kindness through some awful stuff. You are right we can talk without getting shot for it. Lets hope our freedoms in that regard stays. Maybe they will tax our speech???? The air we breathe???? Lets hope not. ginnie

Hi, Waves,

I'm am pretty sure bartering is taxed -- technically that is. If a person were to report the barter, it would be taxed.
