Unhappy Why did I do this?

I ate myself sick.....
We were going to meet our friends for dinner, it was his birthday celebration.
We were going to meet them at the texas road house but first we were going to catch art walk for a bit.
Then I found out that some other people were going to go as well.
I paniced.
I over endulged in my food...
I pigged out and over ate,
it was very impulsive, wonder if I am getting a bit hypomanic about this dieting and need to find more of a balance.
one day at a time...
sigh

Dear Beth,
This is the task of many of us -- to find a balance.
And for people with bipolar, that is a huge task.

You have done well these 8 weeks. Tomorrow you will try again to follow your plan.

Beth, I too have trouble with over indulging in food. It's been more of a problem for me since I have moved because I am much more lonely now than before I moved. I think though that now that the weather is not cold that going for a walk instead of turning to food is a good option for us.

Default hi Beth

not sure if you are getting hypo. always good to keep in mind, but you are just very into it, very dedicated, and doing very well i might add.

i seek comfort in food too in particular when i am down but i have known people who are more susceptible to that when they are anxious. it does sound like the prospect of meeting up with a bunch of folks made you anxious, but it is just an incident, a reaction, as i see it. i don't think it means much in the big picture.

now, if you don't usually do that, when anxious, then yes, it could be a sign that you are depriving yourself a bit much. if that is the case, then consider relaxing some of the diet rules a little.

Gosh, I forgot what your post said.

My memory is bad today. So if this doesnt' make sense you will
know why.

I personally see you as a very organized, go get what you want
person.

Right now losing some weight, getting some exercise is what you
are doing.

I am finding this good for me with getting to helping myself on
dieting.

Maybe a combo of a few things.
I would rule out a medical craving. I went through a spell where a shrimp within a 10 mile radius was not safe,
Frozen bag of tiny ones for salad,
Big one previously frozen, drain off and spray with that fake butter in the micorwave.

Even buying the Romain noodles with shirmp in the name. I was eating shirmp every day some manner.

After two weeks the dh said that is not right, I went to the doctors and that was when the hypo thyroid was diagx.
Since I am on the synthroid, the only time the shrimp are in threat, is a holiday.

So I don't know when they do followup blood work on you, a thryroid test and other things are not standard, a good work up may find that from dieting your body need or crave a carbo, protein or vitiman of some type.

Just brainstorming.
Hope that you do not feel too guilty, the walk for the Art burnt off some calories too..

Default It's okay!!!

I live my entire life on a strict routine of diet and exercise. Sometimes when I get upset or overwhelmed or just craving food I go on a big binge. I will eat everything I can get my hands on. I then usually then go to bed because it happens late at night for me. When I wake up the next day I go through what you are going through, guilt. I feel terrible, like what I did the night before just cost me all of my dieting and exercising. I also ask myself if there is a problem with my bipolar disorder. I do not to this day know why I do it but I do not let it consume me with guilt. Only the day after then I go back to my strict dieting and exercising routine. Peoples bodies have a way of letting them know what they need and it usually gets it. Just a thought for you. This is my problem may not be yours, just thought you should know.
