One of my good colleagues quit with no new job in place. He can't stand the admin.

Hi.

I've been on phone and email for two days trying to help / prod my big boss with hiring his replacement and the the replacements for the others that retired or got fired back in may.
I'm also trying to calm who is is left.

I will have much more work AND different work starting in August due to this colleague's leaving.

I am trying to rethink what I have to do in the next four weeks so that I am ready for this extra work when school starts.

I'm going through a med change that needs to work: just went up from 75 to 100 mg. Next I will go to 150.

I am so sorry. Isn't there anybody else who can take on the extra responsibility? Why does it always have to be you? Please take care of yourself.

i'm here too, if there's anything i can do...

i wish you could have a new, pleasant, competent boss that wouldn't fire people and cause people to quit like this.... sigh.

I'm sad.
The person who left this week, will create a big hole.
I think that when school starts we will feel a great loss with his not being with us.

I am so sorry this had to happen. Please try not to take on extra responsibility...your load is already way too much.

Mari

I have one other thought on this.

If some of the things that the people that are leaving were doing are things
you would like to do. Then please find a way to add them to do.

But at the same time, with new people coming on. Or at least I hope at
least one is. Give some of the things you don't enjoy to them.

Make this a thing were you are moving more to what you want to do.

Can I scream?

Donna,
So far that is not working.
I was given the task of screening applicants for three positions -- lots of phone and email work. And it is hard talking to those people because some are eager, some are annoying, . . . .
. . . .my heart is broken over my old colleagues.
Yesterday and today I took a rest from returning / making calls.
I'll get back to the phone when I am awake and alert and polite (HA!!)-- sometime in the future. I'm going to forget about making calls until I am ready to deal with people again.

I've spent all evening copying and emailing files that the retired person left on her jump drive. One of the guys still here needs it right now yesterday apparently.
Everything on the jump drive is mixed up and messy and I can't keep track of file names.

I am going to call my orthodontist's office tomorrow and throw a fit.
I want the braces off. I am going to tell them I have huge anxiety from those things (true).

One partner in the practice told me 2 months they are coming off. He's the partner who has been working with my mouth all along. Then the snotty partner showed up for my last two visits for no reason. The way she is doing things, the braces could be on forever.
