I was talking to the first employer that I started last year, we have been getting more cases in my northeast area. Then mentioned working during their dry spell for the second company, but how I am owed 6 weeks of work, cost and mileage as a 1099 employee.....I can't afford to be putting fuel in the car, tolls and photo cost.

The first employer sent me an email today saying they lost a primary adjuster and the work load is horrific for all the primary's. Would I be interested in being a work from home, as a phone primary adjuster instead of an assistant, and then fill in with field work.

We are going to discuss this more tomorrow. The one coworker actually lives in Columbia is retired, and I do his field work to get the pictures for claims.
I risk my soc sec, but the owner of the agency said we can have dh do any field work to offset as he is now retired.

Good news, if only I was not afraid of my attention deficit, doing lots of paper work and numbers is not my strong point. But they would do the training.

It does feel good for a promotion, for a trial period I could do that, and see how it works out. I can always tell the owner it is too much for me and still have my field work.

I have two consults for them this week, one a fire scene and the other a car accident, I take the pictures, measure, draw out, get the reports from the fire companies, fire marshal, medical reports, record the statements etc,

I do feel better when I am doing an assignment, I don't dwell my mind is busy, it is just the body that fails me......
Let you know what I decide, but something has to give.

That second employer....wants me to do two jobs, Saturday and Sunday, regular pay......I should have been firm and stated until I was paid what was owed I could not put in more time or fuel. But I was worried I would never get the pay.....

This sounds like a good opportunity...and yes you can always just give it a try and see how you do...no long term commitments to make in your mind.

Is the second employer bad about paying to others?
Can you to do a check on them about that?
I don't know if I would put anymore time in for them until they pay up.

Options?
go with #1 and ditch #2 - and if #2 doesn't pay up after you give written notices to them {whatever the legal requirement is} file civil suit to collect.

It does me good to think out loud and even writing things down,to hash out thoughts and concerns....

You are right Jo, I need the payment, but mostly the mileage too. Paying for the fuel is killing me.

Don't know why I would be concerned over the assignments, I do this work in my sleep from police documents. I think the stress I had with the ex just makes me challenge the value I am to an employer....

I know I have so much input and the contributions for the company, perfect for my talents.
Sucks when you start to question yourself because of outside forces.

I thrive on doing a good job, keeping busy and heck, with the dh retired now, he can take on the house work for a change.
He is doing a lot of the driving and it reduces my work time, and great extra eyes and knowledge too. That frees me up for phone calls and documentation.

Taking the load off the other Primary's will be helpful for them. Any training I need to get up to speed, will be there, this is a unique group that work together.
things are still on the table with them how this would work out. But I am getting my teeth into the assignments already.

It is a lot like doing criminal investigations, documenting, investigation, and reports....

I hope I keep busy this week. Two weeks from now is dh birthday and retirement. Hoping to travel and see his daughter, spend a few days there.

I just keep saying to myself, the greedy ex is digging his own self into a hole with his lies. still hurts me how upset he has my youngest because of the finances and attorney stuff.
