Barbara,
here's the thing: costs are 100% negotiable. discomfort is 100% non-negotiable. he could compensate you for the costs either by - paying you mileage OR - letting you use a company vehicle if you would consider such counteroffers, fine. otherwise, if you get a counteroffer and then change story, it will look bad. you could say you are unable to drive that much, due to your eye surgery, and that the recovery period is lengthy. that is a medical issue nothing to do with comfort, but also non-negotiable. IF you are SURE you would do the 30 mile radius, you could say so. then you will have to see if the compensation is enough to offset car/gas costs... ~ waves ~ |

Barbara,
I think saying that about the car thing might actually work! Good idea! The only thing is Waves might be right! You need to weigh out your options! Colleen |

Hi all,
I talked to the guy yesterday evening and he doesn't want to hardly pay enough. I just told him I didn't want to drive any further than a 30 mile radius because I'm not ready to tie up that much of my day. I'm thinking that he just wants me for when his daughter comes into town so he can spend time with her. barbara |

You did a good job telling him what you want to do. Now you have a good idea whether you could do it. So you know how to start thinking about it. Donna |

Thank you Donna. I'm just going to go through the motions of getting ready to do it and see how I do. I would glady like to have it on my resume at least as working.
