Default Stress!

Hello,
I was talking with Befuddled2 and was telling her that I was having some problems due to the construction going on in my house! I am a clean freak and everything looks dirty right now! I do not need things to be completely organized but I do like things to stay in the place where I put them, now everything is all over and piled in boxes! I also am a control freak so I have decided that it would be best if I did all the painting of the trim, wall molding and walls for the two bathrooms, closet, doors and 4 windows! Like I told Barbara I am afraid that I have bit off more than I can chew but what is done is done I guess! I should only have to deal with the construction crew for 2 or 3 weeks, which is good!

Colleen,

I feel for you. I guess the reason why I don't want anyone living with me is that I have to have things my way at home after having it like that for some time now. Having my place tore up would also be nerve racking also. Hang in there. It may take a little while to adjust to it until it's done. When I had strangers in my apartment after my eye surgery to take care of me it was nerve racking to me but I calmed down after a while about it. Maybe if you can tell yourself it's only temparily it will also help.

Hugs,
barbara

wow that is a lot to have a lot on your plate!!! but it sounds like it is getting done. the work is finite - keep reminding yourself it will end!!!

meantime is there any place in the house you can sort of fence in for yourself - you know, make a little sanity shelter or something?

Collinsc

Good luck with the work. I'm wishing the clean freakness would hit me.

My husband is procrastinating, and my house will not be ready for Derrick's
party I fear.

UGh, I'm not happy. I can't do most of the work.

I should have gone with my instincts and scheduled a site.

Hi,
I get soooo anxious when anybody is in my place touching my stuff and messing up whatever sense of continuity I had going.
I hope that they do a good job and get out of there sooner than you expect.

Maybe focus on the goal. You'll be happy with the results.

Waves,
We do have this one room that I could use. We call it the wasted space room, because it really has no purpose! I have a leather chair in there, a lamp and some other furniture. I could get away there, thanks Waves!

Default Panic Attack!!

Today was horrible! Had to deal with the whole construction thing, then doctors by 8 am, come home and deal with construction thing then therapist by 11 am. I forgot a paper that I needed for my session so I had to go all the way home to get it. By that time I was barely going to make it to my appointment. I got stuck behind a highway truck going 35 then after I passed him, in my junk truck, I got stuck behind another slow moving vehicle that all I wanted to do was rear end! By the time I parked the truck I was in a full blown panic attack. Couldn't breathe, crying, sweating, shaking, etc... I calmed down enough meaning I stopped crying and went in the building. I registered and then went for all of my pills. I took everything that I had on me that would relax me! My therapist came out to get me and I was shaking so badly I couldn't hand him my paper! Went into his office where he got me a glass of water and he told me to put my head in between my knees so my breathing could slow down. When I got the water I went back into my pill box and took more pills to relax me! The session got better and by the end of the hour I was mostly relaxed. When I left there I had to go and get waxed, all I wanted to do was come home and hide out for the day! I got through that and then went to the bank, then back to the construction stuff! Can't handle another day like this one tomorrow! If the construction nonsense starts to bother me I will just leave and go to the local coffee house!

Default yuck

oh gosh what a horrible day! i'm so sorry you went through all that!

yes hiding out at the coffee house sounds like a good idea. maybe don't even wait for the stuff to get to you. get while the gettin's good ... go hang out there and relax with a cup of coffee and maybe a nice slice of pie and a good book.

p.s. this is not going to be any consolation but i thought about you today because i got shaky and weak in the knees a few times, and thought i was going to faint! i didn't though, thank goodness.

Hi,

How about planning to go to the coffee house before you have a problem?
That would help.
