This is a ludicrous proposal.
I can see why it might be upsetting. Please don't think too much about this. I really cannot imagine politicians allowing this to happen. There's always someone "out of line," proposing absurd solutions. I cannot see this Administration allowing for SSDI cuts like this at all. Breathe.... and try to not worry about this. Keep an eye on it if you'd like, yet try to not worry. ~DejaVu |

I went online to find out more of the things that former Sen.Simpson has been saying. I find myself still troubled. How can they justify cutting social security when it is being replentished continually. Their are less pensions. He has a big fat pension I'm sure of.
What about the spending for technologys that are not needed. It's out of control. They are spending, and upgrading police radios to digital, which is a enormous expense. Analog worked well. This is just a example of the new things they are buying, and they are buying things that are top notch. They just produced a high tech jet called a F-22 Raptor. They made almost 200 of these expensive jets, while we have the F-18 Hornets,F-16,F-15,and F-14's. They are also producing F-35 nato jet's. Do you know how much a F-22 Raptor costs? 160 Million each,or more. What about having military bases all over the world. I could go on,and on. They buy what they want to the financial damage of the country. I'm seeing PR releases that are causing us to believe that we need what they are trying to brainwash us into believing. I'm sorry for venting. BF |

Dear Friend,
I agree with you. We need good people making decisions about social security. M. |

it is hard to hear of/watch huge chunks of money getting thrown at wires and simm cards, just so the old equipment can be thrown away, and the folks who could use basic survival help get their income docked.
your venting is just fine. it is a scary world that does these things. ~ waves ~ |

Yes.
I think you and I would choose different people to be on the panel. M. |

The CEO's are probably set for life, and the politicians have a government pension. There doesn't seem to be anyone on the panel who will draw only Social Security. There should be a few people who will only draw Social Security on the panel. I could go on,and on.
I don't think that anyone on the panel is in anyway associated with the (only) Social Security recipients. As you know we paid Social Security with every pay check. We didn't miss a payment. There was a proposed $250 stimulous resently, because there hasn't been a raise in social security for a long time. The congress voted against it. The congress should be influenced by the public, and not each other. They should be made to spend 1/2 of their time with the public that they represent. After seeing the last two disasters on the Gulf coast not being responded to in a timely, and emergency manner, I don't think that the government really cares about us. BF |
