Question OK for us to take Robitussin cough medicine?

Hi,
'Just came back from the pharmacy.
Is it ok for us people with bipolar to take Robitussin cough medicine with dextromethorphan and guaifenesin?

Apparently dextromethorphan can interfere with MAOIs and SSRIs. I'm on Verapamil and Klonopin. I have a cough but not other symptoms (thank goodness).

Maybe I should stick to the Menthol cough drops.

Hi Mari,

I would call the pharmicist up and ask him. They can look it up really quick if they don't know. Drugists seem to me to be more knowledgeable about what we can take than the doctors.

Thanks, Befuddled,
I don't want to call. I'm not up to it.

But I don't think I need the cough medicine tonight anyway. The cough settled down with a cough drop and water.

Hi Mari,

It is better to be safe than sorry so I'm glad to hear you opted for the cough drop. I hope you feel better soon.
