My Favorite system is the one I've seen one of Orpah's team do several times.

She has professionals including therapists and such.
Her group gets the whole family involved in taking everything out of the house on a large tarp.
Bins are set up for 1 keeping, 2 garbage, 3 giving a way, . . .

Each member of the group is given a container for their keeping pile and about 30 seconds to take out what they want. (They don't get to keep everything -- only what they really really want. They only get a few seconds to decide.)

I'm probably missing something key but that is what I remember.

Then the family is sent away while the designers redo the whole home.

People seem pleased at the end.
I would like to see some follow up shows.

Also, all of these shows make a big deal at the end of the shows with the family (included folks estranged because of the junk) eating or at least planning a meal at the dining room / kitchen table.
It is nice that cleaning fosters good energy.

Dear Majo,
Put the photos away. You will be better to able to enjoy them when you are in the right place.

I don't put anything away either.
I need to see my stuff. When I put it a way in my head it is gone, disapeared.
For example I like open shelves instead of draws. I file my stuff in clear plastic folders. I would like to nail stuff to the walls in stead of putting it away.
