THanks for giving a complete story. I have what seems to be more memory problems. Or maybe I just mix everyone up know. I am not sure. But I do know that I started having lots of the same problems, with no real answers. But it is very scarey of course. Donna |
Dear Waves,
I'm happy that your feet are cooperating with you. Here is my suggestion -- not that I claim to know this stuff: Walk more than you have been doing (briskly or otherwise) and keep track of 1. distance 2 time of day or other variables you think relevant 3. your speed /effort 4. breathing and heart rates at various time you deem appropriate. You can keep track of what is happening here at our site. Talk to pdoc and let him give you the go ahead to start a walking routine. Work on getting a better cardio look see from an md who cares about people. Keep monitoring the Zoloft reactions. M. |

I do have one more suggestion: For some reason I need to drink lots more water when I'm having problems with both my asthma and allergies. I realize this isn't either of those probably. But when I start to have problems with my breathing for other reasons I've just been walking and am winded I need more water lots of the time. So I've tried to start keeping more water with me. I also am trying to take our newest dog for more walks. He is the one that is helping my issues. Donna |
oh what kind of a dog donna?
how many pets do you have?:) bizi |
i forgot to take my Zoloft Sunday.
today i did even though i was kindof a mess coz i got sick last night - not sure if from the 2 beers and napping right before dinner or some kind of stomach bug. i am mostly better but am having ginseng tea tonight hoping to settle things completely. i am feeling uptight and irritable and out of sorts too, so i took 1.5mg of my long-acting anxiolytic. (.5 first, didn't notice it, so took additional 1mg) Mari your suggestions are good. thank you for summing things up so neatly for me. my mind has been feeling scattered, so that was helpful. Donna i am sorry you are having difficulties... what is it that the new dog helping you with? that is nice you have a pet to work with. i made friends with a dog the other day. Bizi i too was a bit thrown by the 192... that is much higher than the average max heart rate for my age group... and although i was tired enough to back off to avoid a stitch, i didn't run to total exhaustion either... just started walking instead of running. but i was even more surprised at the 188 when i got home. because by then, i had been standing around talking etc - had completely recovered my breath by the time i was conversing, for about 10 mins. no stairs either - elevator. :o my bp these days seems lower than it was the last period i checked. it is consistently around 120/75. my mom reminded me it was winter (not spring) the last time i checked it regularly, and that bp can go up a little in winter. so, a few days ago when it was 135/85 ish, i am inclined to think it was due to moving around and the 4 cups of caffeinated coffee i had that day ( usually, only 1 or 2 of my cups are caffeinated). anyway. i will keep "gathering data" and will report back on the pulse stuff after i talk to pdoc. he may suspect the Zoloft, and may want me to come off it. if he thinks i should get tests right away, or just eventually, before i attempt to run again, pdoc will know how to go about that with the GP. (yes, i can be a real wuss sometimes! :o) thank you everyone for your thoughts and feedback on this. :grouphug: ~ waves ~ |
I just meant that I take the Yorkshire out for fast like walks.
Since he likes to walk fast. I can take him out and he can give me some exercise. So he helps me get myself back to learning how to walk and not get so tired it seems. So I am getting better finally I guess. But the asthma and allergies are bad right now. So I will have to watch it. Donna |
Dear Donna,
your exercise program with walking the yorkshire sounds great! i hope the asthma and allergies let up soon so you can enjoy it more. ~ waves ~ |
your poor heart waves...I am so upset about it being that high......:(

Anxiety can also raise your heart rate. Tacchycardia is also associated with orthostatic hypotension...
It really could be that damned zoloft. If I missed a dose of zoloft in the past, or effexor now, the first thing I notice is a light-headed fluttering feeling. My resting HR can go over 100, but my bp is almost always good 100-115(s)/60-70(d). I'm on a TON of meds. I had orthostatic hypotension when I was younger and kept passing out... had the full cardiac workup... and the cardiologist didn't want to put me on cardiac meds cuz of my age, and told me to push the fluids and put salt on everything. So far it's worked for me, but I wouldn't suggest anyone else diagnose themselves and try it. It's important to measure your bp and pulse after a period of rest (after at least 10-15 min. without talking or running around). My best advice is to just be vigilant. Hope you feel better soon.
