Dear Donna
it's been a while now... how is Derrick doing? have things stabilized for him? and what about your mom-in-law recovering from hip surgery? how is her progress and how are her spirits? we know you've been busy (doing a great job) with child placement... but how is Donna, in the midst of it all? ~ waves ~ |

Thanks Everyone
I have been busier than normal and not had much to say. SO I've been reading. But my laptop from work kind of is messed up. So its been kind of hard to get on. So I have been working very hard to get my husbands old laptop back on line. And finally today did it. Now just to get the microsoft outlook on. Then it will have the calendar I need for my work. But I'm doing okay. Having rough time with husband will explain in a while. Derrick isn't doing to bad. He is down way to far in my opinion on the dilantin level. But we are checking it again in about 9 days. So its 9.8 right now. But I know he missed one dosage. So we will see. My mother-in-law is doing pretty good. She needs to have visitors, but even though I had planned to go see her this weekend. With Derrick, it just didn't happen. I've been so tired. But I'll work on it and get better. Her roommate moved out. I'm pretty sure she just wanted more quiet. So we are working on trying to get her to decide what she wants to do when she gets out of the facility. I think she will be moving in with us. Because she doesn't want to live in the country again. And that is were one of the son's lives. And the other one has his mother-in-law with hip problems and dementia that is getting worse living there. So she it would be too much for him. So we will see. My husband is trying to get his new business to start. Hoping to soon have 3 jobs starting, and a really big one to start right after those. SO he is a really big pain right now. He is not happy with all the bills and things. So we will see. Donna |

Yes lots going on. If I could chose a different house I am not sure it would
matter that much to me. But its this house. I'm not so sure she will be able to live here with us. We would have to do lots of work on this house. Its possible that it would be the house next door. Which is my son's house right now. But its not even close to being ready to getting it ready to get ready either. So we will see. The hardest part of her moving in with us would or will be that I will not have a office except in the middle of my house still. Donna |

Hi Donna!
Hope you are doing okay. Sounds like you are going thru a lot right now. My son takes meds too. It is hard finding the right cocktail. It took us a while to find our boy the right meds. Understand so much how difficult it is. I have taken Seroquel XR. My pdoc told me when he put me on it that it is better than the regular Seroquel because it is a) the extended release and stays in the system longer b) doesn't have that bad of weight gain tendencies as the regular Seroquel (I didn't gain any weight with it) c) What Bizi mentioned about the larger dose: I was taking 300 mgs. It made a difference for me with the higher dosage. However I like the Geodon better than the Seroquel XR better. It just works better. Some people like Abilify better than either of those two antipsychotics. All meds work different for everyone. I have taken all three. They all worked different for me. I know people who have taken all three too- and they have worked well for various people in different ways. It just depends on the person/med/their body's response to the drug. Hang in there!! Hugs!!
