Default geodon slurring words anxiety and another side effect

i stopped taking geodon and I am no longer slurring words and my anxiety isn't bad. there is another side effect too which I am embarrassed to write about but that has greatly diminished much to my relief.....

I was just thinking about you. I hadn't seen you around for a bit and I was worried.

Did you start another anti-psyc med or are you taking a break for a bit?

I am so sorry the Geodon stopped helping and was causing more problems.

Bobby

I am glad you are feeling better!!!!

Did they give you something in place of the Geodon?

I couldn't take geodon, it made me sick to my stomach.

Hugs, Nikko

Hi
I have been taking risperdal all along but Dr.Moussavian also put me on Geodon over six months ago. When I told him I wanted off of Geodon he raised the risperdal from two to three mg.
I am feeling better :-) thank you so much

Dear Bobby,
I'm glad that the med change is working.
Sometimes I can handle the weird symptoms. Other times I get freaked out.

thank you again....it is so nice to write something positive finally....I should be freaking out how I let the side effects of geodon go on so long without questioning they were side effects from the medication....I know I always tend to assume the worse...Now I am terrified of any new medication addition or switch....I am still in an isolation mode and find it such a huge deal to leave my apartment and to look at the mail. I still don't have much emotional energy. I can't believe winter is almost over.

I just scanned your posts, and wanted to let you know that side effects from medications are common, and mostly awful. I am glad you spoke out and took care of it.
I do not have BP but have a disabling condition that causes extensive brain damages, and I have to deal with side effects that are unique to me whenever I take medications, and they can be mean problems. I also have a son who is bipolar, and he struggles with numerous side effects as do most people with your disease.
Remember, you are not alone. There are over 3,000,000 people in the US who have the same thing you do.

thank you for the reminder....I am so sorry about you and your son....
It is strange but I am not angry at my psychiatrist for not suggesting that I get off of Geodon....When I was on Lamictal, I started having gum trouble and I looked that up on the net and found that could be a side effect. My psychiatrist didn't even know about that side effect. I guess there are just so many side effects we have to take such an active and wary stance when we have a medication change. Here I thought I was lol
