All I see is a part white, and a part orange blur up in the sky. There's still snow on the ground, and that might be causing the light fog condition in the sky.

I can't get a image of the moon at all with my camera. I'm going out there at 3:15 AM. BF

To much fog. I could see a orange blur, and a darker blur spanning most of the moon around 3:20 AM.

I saw a good Lunar eclipse back in the 1980's. It had a clear orange look. I didn't see any red in it back then either. BF

Dear Friend,
Whether we see it exactly as expected is not what matters.
We can still experience the moon's glory.

That's cool that you and I were watching it tonight. The sky is perfectly clear here. -- albeit with some light pollution from the nearby city. I watched part of it starting around 2:30. It was majestic.

M.

The coolest thing that I've ever seen in the sky was a very large meteorite called a fireball. It went through the sky a little faster then a airplane. This was back in the 90's. What caught my eye was it's color. It was green, and when it went over, I could see orange sparks coming out of the back of it. The newspaper put out an article about it the next day. That's probable the first, and the last one that I will see. BF

I just found out the reason the moon turns orange during a Lunar eclipse. It's because during the eclipse, the moon shows all the sunsets, and sunrises from earth. Isn't that cool. I never though of that.

You can see the moon in it's eclipse on,"Astronomy picture of the day". BF
