Default Lack of excitement over a long period of time.

I have very little,or no excitement about anything. I noticed this about six years ago. Do other people feel a lack of excitement also? I guess I don't feel very much about anything either at times. I am concerned about this. BF

Hi dear Steve,

If in anyway this helps, I feel the same... since... about 2 years ago probably...

And, if, by any chance I feel excited for somthing, my immediate reaction is: "wait, what for ? why for ?" you know... Like I contain myself for feeling excited...

Other times I simnply dont feel excited... I might feel euphoric sometimes... but I think that's just because of my medicines.... but truly feeling ?? nop... in a long while...

I think it is part of depression... I have always thought that... Am I wrong ??

I leave you hugs !!!

Thank you Blue. It probably has something to do with depression, and the other illnesses. I'm just hanging on,and hoping that I don't go into a tail spin emotionally unexpectedly. I wish that I could have a long term healing event. I think that the things that we're going through are genetic, for the most part. Also bad events in life add on to it,and maybe things like immunizations, and etc. BF

Red face

I thought you liked your radios and electronic stuff.
I realize that liking and being excited are different states.

Hey Bizi I do like the electronics, but I've had them for so long, their just regular things to me now, that I've incorporated into my life.

I don't feel excited about any of it anymore. I wish that I did. BF

Hi BF --

Do you do HAM radio at all? That sounds like fun to me, but I don't have a license.

Last night I was in a crummy mood (different from depression, I know) and felt uplifted after delivering some baked goods to neighbors. I don't know if its possible for you to do any service projects, but they are good for the soul.

Best wishes, Twink

I'm not a ham radio operater, but I passed the test, and the instructor lost it. Then I took the test again, and failed it.

I do have a CB set up where I can talk single sideband, but now I'm getting interference from the gas station across the road at night in that part of the shortwave band. Phosphorescent lights are jaming my reception at night. I'm getting up to 70% interference (Static). I've sent out messages to him,but he's not complying,or cooperating. I guess he feels like lighting up the whole area with his lights when he goes home. I can barely see the stars, and I'm way out in the country.

I have a shortwave reciever where I can here Ham radio, and other shortwave stations. They are not affected by static like my CB equipment. I talked civilized, with decent conversations. Allot of CB'ers don't,and they give it a bad name.

My VHF,and UHF police scanners are not affected by the static either. I hear them loud, and clear. BF

Steve,

I don't get really excited anymore, but boy can I feel those negative emotions when they pop up. I like things, seem to enjoy things, get happy about things, but not to the degree I used to. It happens off and on.
Feeling "flat" is definitely from depression in my case.

I haven't been to the beach in over ten years. There's something claustrophobic to me about driving through the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel. It's a bridge that goes under the bay.

I seem to be avoiding things right now that would be fun. I worry to much about things that could happen. I don't know. BF

Dear Friend,
Maybe this is due to your isolation.

It could be the meds.
