I am not sure what is up or going on.

But for some reason, and yes I checked its only Wednesday.

I picked up two new cases on Monday. Then I picked up I believe
two new cases today. THis is going on a record for me.
I don't pick up cases like this. Some of my co-workers do they
receive calls in the 10's in a day. But I've always been lucky if I
got one a day.

Then yesterday I got a call from a lady trying to figure out which
workshop/training IN*SOURCE is doing would be closest to her.
Well of course I'd love to have her at mine next week. But I am
pretty sure other than the one's being done in South Bend, that
mine is the furthest from her. So I had told her about our website.
So she asked for the site again. And I gave her the name of
our Office Manager in SOuth Bend to talk to about the different
trainings too.

I then got a chance to tell my supervisor about this too. I was so
impressed with my luck. She was amazed that I had received this
call. I told her I thought maybe I just happened to be the only one
answering their phone on this day at this time.

So its been a interesting week, I just wish I had written down her
name so with the phone number I could put her in our database.

p.s. you might get into a routine habit of asking for a name and number of new callers... and you can just tell them, for your records. if they don't want to leave a name they don't have to but many will just as a matter of course. keep up the good work!

I have them leave their name and number and their childs name and birthdate
on my answering machine. But it's not often I answer my line.

Okay had a really interesting couple of days.

First on THursday went to a case conference with a mom who is having
a rough time. We helped the school through having to ask for evaluations.
By having it already written down.

I saw the releave if the Principals face when I had the mom hand the
written request to him. And they did ask for a FBA and I was really
thinking now why didn't I see that need. But it was okay.

In the end, I was thanked by all the members, and I was given a special
thanks at the end by the retiring this year counselor who stated it was
so nice to have a advocate who worked with the school and the parent
together.

Then on Friday I did a workshop for staff of headstart with a co-worker.
And she said, I did the best I've ever done. She said, you even were telling
jokes. ANd then today when I opened my emails, she had sent my supervisor
and her's a note telling how well I had done.

She is the one that writes most of our trainings so they already now how well she does.

But it was so nice to get the kudos.

I am very happy for you. and impressed, but i was already impressed - still.

It certainly is a good feeling to have one's efforts - and results - recognized, especially when you have your heart in your work like you do.
