Hi everyone

I have some updates.

First Derrick had a great special olympic track meet. He got a 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th, 5th. He has never done this before.
So it was neat.

He got his first in the shot put, and he now has to really do great at the
state. Because I believe he went way over his average. But the story behind this is great. His coach's hadn't heard the first score. So I told them it was a 6.33. The thing was he slipped in the 2nd throw and stepped
out. He almost fell, and got disqualified on that one. But everyone was
concerned if he was hurt. They could tell he had slipped or something.
Of course mom, was extra worried, I knew it could be seizure related.
But he was okay. And the third throw was a 4.78 or so. And
he was disappointed.

But I knew he was okay. So off they went to the stage, he got 1st.
But the big thing is, He turned his ribbon over. And saw the score on
it. He was astonished. I then knew he hadn't believed me.
So I told him he needed to go back and tell the ladies that had taken
the time to write the times on the ribbons. Thank you, and explain
why. They needed to hear from a athlete why it meant so much.
He did a thank you, and tried to explain. But it didn't come out right.
So I explained a little. THe were kind of astonished, but laughted
with him and I about the issue. And he said, that because they took
the time. He got the reward.

Otherwise, he also thanked me for being his adult and coach. It was
so neat. I was a few other kids coach at times too. I am not a trained
coach. But I love to volunteer at times when needed.

well went to pain doctor and nurse practioneer today.

I can't switch to a different drug for cymbalta because nothing works

like it. So I guess I will have to make a decision when I can afford it
whether I take 1 or 2 a day. But that will be okay.

I am irritated at my husband. he seems to think I've been interrupting
him on the phone. Well at times I have to. just to get to talk.

Anyway, I've been busy all week. Its a really busy week. And then
its over for a while.

Dear Donna,

I'm sorry you're husband's irritating you  Give him a swift kick in the backside for me.

Also sorry about the cymbalta... how much is it going to cost you a month?

Dmom3005 05-25-2011 06:53 PM

Heehee Kay

I would but I'm afraid, I'd fall and get hurt.

I am not sure yet, but guessing 125 a month or more. Will be looking
into patient assistance soon.
:grouphug:
I have some exciting news. I had a contact that will finally get
me found. As in Parent advocate finally being known.

I am meeting with one of the supervisors for this low income client
place tomorrow for my biggest county. I'm so excited.

I have always wanted to work with this group. Just couldn't get in
the door. And they found me finally.

And now I have a chance.

Donna:grouphug:

Next. I had a case today, that I had to send to mediation. Because
they wouldn't allow the alternative they even suggested. Ugh.

And I'm ready to go on vacation, now to find someone to watch out for
my parent while I'm gone.

Congratulations Donna!
That's great news! It sounds like this open up a lot of new opportunities for you! You should be very proud of yourself because all of the great work you do and have done has gained you recognition!

I hope you have a wonderful time on vacation and avoid sleeping in any motorized vehicles!

Dmom3005 05-27-2011 02:06 PM

Same job, just another aspect of it.

I am planning to not sleep in motorized vehicles if possible.
