Talking Away at beach for two nights

Hi,
Three weeks ago when I was in a state of anxiety, I invited my girlfriend to drive me across the state to a hotel in a beach town. She jumps at any chance for a trip. She is more practical than I am and will make sure that we get there and back (-- always a good thing as my tdoc pointed out.) We are sharing costs. She is driving.

We are leaving my place in time on Friday to get to the pier for 8:10 sunset. That is our only rule / commitment we have set for ourselves.

The last time I slept anywhere other than my own bed was 2004 or so -- I probably needs this trip -- I need to get out once in a while.

We are going to avoid the hot time of day, maybe walk in the evening, maybe shop in the middle of the day.

I love the negative ions in the beach air.

And for a whopping one in three of us who are sensitive to their effects, negative ions can make us feel like we are walking on air. You are one of them if you feel instantly refreshed the moment you open a window and breathe in fresh, humid air.

Have a great get-away, Mari! woww... i haven't really been anywhere much since last spring which was a big rush to a funeral and not exactly fun or "refreshing." i need to do something like this soon.

interesting about the negative ions... i wonder if that's part of why i love rain/storms etc... always have. i think there are other aspects to that somehow as well, but i don't know.

Default Home is good

The beach town was lovely. We saw the sunset.
We went to bed at 1:30 am and slept for twelve hours. That is an early bed time for me.

Next day -- not all that great. Friend got annoying.
I barely slept because I didn't feel good.
I thanked her for the drive. Next time, I will drive myself.

Home is good.
Hubby is happy to see me.

I need a nap.

Mari,

I'm sorry things didn't go perfectly (as they never do), but I'm glad you got the break.

In the past I've had friends become very tiresome while on vacation, so I can relate.

Default beach really was lovely

HI,

Friend is always annoying. She was no worse than usual.

The short break helped.
I also liked being on the beach.

I felt a little weird about not being at home. It was hard to be in the hotel room. Change is hard.

I had a good time.
