Ribbon We are home, tanner and poorer

Wow what a week. I missed my cyber friends so much. I know you all would have been great fun to be with me.

Younger dd some great activities. One was a Dolphin encounter. I have the photos of a hug, kiss, feeding food and even sitting on her lap. She is in withdrawal realizing she has to make her own food, there are no menus without prices, or buffets all day.
No night dancing, comedy acts, or her friends she made with the cruise director, photo guys, even the piano man. Glad to get home to the cats and we all had to take a nap as soon as we got back.

Dd, ds, dh all have gone on and on, about the best vacation ever and how they would love to do it all over again.
I did have a blast, so many friends, but nothing romantic, well no honeymoon anyway. But at least we did have a nice time. I was saddened about not having De there, having put the weight on, and the terrible pain walking I had.

Waves, did I think of you two days, day two, they closed off the deck doors due to huge waves. Then Saturday on the way home, the pool was like a wave pool before they drained it. The waves were over 11 ft so a rocky ride.

The other news, the ship the Norwegian Gem is a real Gem now. I had my engagement ring reset two weeks ago. The old setting was getting worn prongs and I did not want to lose the stone. Well in the pool on Saturday I lost the stone in the new setting. They drained the pool, checked the filter, but it was not the entire ring, just the stone.

It was weird, the first day at sea I left my cell on vibrate, just in case ds needed to text me with an emergency. But, I had two calls rec'vd from the jeweler that reset my stone in the new setting. I will be calling in the morning to see what they wanted and tell them my ring I had over two decades in the other setting was fine, the new setting, the priceless stone was lost from. It is really upsetting,

Then packing last night, I made sure I did not leave anything behind...I even packed dd shoes for this morning. You have to have shoes on to disembark and re-enter US. The younger son threw on his cape crusader outfit, ran to lost and found to see if they found "her" flip flops. LOL they were about 2 sizes smaller, but at least got her off the boat.

Di

I'm so glad you had a good time. Sorry about the ring. I really understand
this .

I have to have my ring made bigger, it swells on my finger all the times.

Over the last ten years I had my original setting, plain thin band, enlarged 2 complete sizes for swelling. I was so worried when at Zales having it cleaned they showed me how flat my prongs were. I took it off and spent two weeks looking for my new setting.

When I looked with a magnifing glass, the two side prongs have NO prong tips,. They are as if filed down. I once had a claim for insurance that the woman had a cleaning done. Within a short time her diamond fell out but was found in a tea cup. The claim from the diamond, was not hers. The original insurance appraisal was a $10,000 diamond. The one that fell out was junk....

The scam was the tips were filed down. The cheap diamond fell out; thus the plan would be the insurance would pay for the claim...but the store had replaced the stone.

By the woman finding the stone in the tea cup she had the proof. The odd thing I kept telling dh that it did not look like mine. I had a high mount, this was short, so he said it looked differing. But I told him when I got back from the trip I wanted the original high mount placed. THis made the stone look like it was not as wide, and at almost a carat should have been more brilliant.

I hope that is not what happened as we have dealt with this store since his Dad was the owner, 40 years ago.

Update on return home syndrome...I still stand in front of the sink weaving for balance from side to side. We had sandwiches for late supper when I got in from work, and everyone wanted to know where supper REALLY was.

Off to bed, have to start work early AM.
sleep well all. Give you the update tomorrow about the ring.
Di

Aw... So sorry about your ring... I hate when those things happen but at the same time I like to use the things I have... I know some people just keep everything in their houses so things dont get lost or stolen, but what's the purpose of that ?? It's nice that your ring is/Was all the time with you

Lovely pics !!! looks like such a beautiful place and cruise !!! and Im so glad to read you had fun !

Haha, you made me smile with you still adjusting to being home... That's nice too because it means you are still cruising you know ?

Much much love,
Blue.
