Teeth Thanks y'all!

You folks are great.

Sorry to be late stopping by. Had a bit of heat stroke on the way to work yesterday & wound up in the ER, admitted, just signed myself out since they couldn't decide what to do. Been without all meds for 36 hrs....things starting to get ugly!

To begin with, both lips have broken out with fever blisters 'cause I've not had my lysine. I am SO addicted to these drugs. No Cymbalta or topiramate: while I'm aware that the sun might rise tomorrow, I can't think there'll be much sense in me rising. I really doubt I'll ever be able to work again. At the moment I wonder whether I'll be able to drive or do anything. Whiney? Oh yeh.

I've been here before & I know if I just hang on long enough & get the right drugs back at the right levels in my body, I'll be okay. Those idiots in in hospital wouldn't listen to me. They were tunnel-visioned on the heatstroke & I kept telling them there were other things I needed taken care of at the same time.

So that's what's on my mind at the moment.

Sure is nice to be here.

JudeLauren

Man, I would send the administrator of the Hospital a letter.
I would think they broke some kind of law. Not giving you your other
medicines.

I hope you start to get back to normal soon.

You are a great person.

Heart Wow

Dear JudeLauren,

Thank goodness you made it home. That place sounds awful. Maybe it is best to stay away from hospitals for a while.

Eeek!! Wow. I'm so glad that you made it home safely. Be kind to your body and your mind. You went through way too much .. . . especially for what started out as a normal drive to work.

Are you going to stay home on Thursday? You sound like you can use the rest and healing time.

Your case reminds me that I used to keep an emergency dose of meds in my purse . . . .in case I ended up in a place like a hospital where I could not get the Xanax I was on at the time . . .

Those of us that live in the hot parts of the country (the sandbox states) have tricks. I used to wet my hair with cold water in the shower (or poured water over my head) before I got in the car. I'd leave the house with wet hair. When it was really hot, I would also let the water hose run across the top of my car for a while before I left. I figured I had cooled the car down a few degrees.
I kept water with me at all times -- to drink and to pour on my head or arms or . . . . Some people wear a wet scarf around their necks that they keep wet with a spritzer (I haven't tried it) . I also kept towels in the car and an extra shirt so I could arrive to the next place without looking wet. Can you keep some fresh shirts / outfits at work?
Now I have a car with good air conditioning and stay home in the summer months.

I hope Thursday goes better for you. Take things easily.

M.

All good ideas, I hate to say though sometimes even with good
air conditioning. Even it can get hot in a car.

Hi there Jude

sorry for the mis-adventure... i agree with writing the administrator... something you can do when you feel better. or if you need something to fill time, maybe better starting now - even just tossing down notes - while recall is still fresh. ugh.

no meds and heat stroke on top.... are you sure the two weren't one and the same... meds causing sx of heat stroke/dehydration?

i hope you feel better soon.
