Frown New warning on Tylenol ds health

I am really concerned. ds has used a pain med with Acetaminophen in for years. Recently at a doctor visit we found out that he has liver problems from the Acetaminophen. They are pretty concerning.
Yesterday they did a cat scan and ultra sound we are waiting the results.

I had older dd's problems years ago when she went into liver failure from her pain med switch to methadone because the doc thought he could "cure" her from pain and cheaply. That was really the start of tragedy with trying to control pain and not injest a medication that would go in the liver.

Now I have to go through this stress all over again. I am terrified for him.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Di
,

You have memories from your daughter's issues, but keep in mind that this is a different situation. You are knowledgeable now and you have a better doctor on the case.

I send prayers and good energy for your son.

Thank you all,
My Aunt that is just a few years older then me is going through the same thing right now. She had her cervical fusion a few years ago and had a lot of pain to get through too,
I wonder if it can be heriditary tendency,

My liver is fine, but having problems with the Kidneys. I still have to get the 8 am blood draw to check the protein level. When can health issues just go away?

Dont panic sweetheart

The story doesnt have to be the same... Like Mari said, you are in better hands now....

Consider our livers have the power of autoregenerate.... So hopefully it wont be that serious....

We will be thinking and praying for you and ds !

Let me know how are things going...

Exclamation Livers can regenerate

Livers don't always do it, but they can regenerate--even from a pretty bad condition, & especially in a younger person. I was drinking a fifth to a quart a day of straight scotch--& had been, for most of 10 yrs--when I checked into rehab. 7 yrs later my liver had regenerated to the point that my drinking couldn't be detected. I know your son will need painkillers, but they are working hard in research to find answers, so I think he has more going for him now than your daughter did in earlier days. Especially if he has a really good doctor.

He is in my prayers & will be daily. I came so close to losing my life, my only way of saying thanks for all who prayed for me is to pray for others. You & he are now among my others, & I'm thankful to add you. Part of being grateful.... Bet you know exactly what I mean.

love to you both
