Default Bad Smart and others

I'll bet most of ya'll have seen the acronym BAD that stands for Bipolar Affective Disorder. Today may have been the first time I've seen it. I guess of all the deseases in the world, it's just fitting that I inherited this one.

I guess I could have inherited Frequent Arthritic Renal Tendonitis FART. Of course I made that one up.

Or this one Self-Monitoring, an*l Retentive Toad SMART. And I made this one up.

I was reading about a guy with Bipolar today and he said he's vanilla now that he takes his meds. I also feel vanilla on lithium. But it's much better than going from the tip top extreme chocolate, with chocolate syrup, peanuts, sprinkles, glazed walnuts, reeses pieces.......all the way down to a bowl full of packing peanuts (styrofoam).

Yeah I'm BAD ...and I really like my vanilla

YEP, THOSE ACRONYMS CAN BE ANNOYING!! Also ironic! Like someone who is oppositional is ODD ... Believe me, I just retired after five years as a Disability Claims Adjudicator for Social Security, and the amount of acronyms that the medical professionals use are WAY excessive - like OOB - 'out of bed'. It took me awhile to figure out a few of them, but reading medical records all day makes for a very interesting job . Boy, I can sure tell you some stories....

Off topic, sorry I never liked acronyms .

Dear Curly,

I don't remember. I think sometimes the dx'es get modified -- after a while the pdoc could add a secondary dx or "down grade" the dx" by getting rid of the psychotic part.

Another day, another time....busy housecleaning today for my sister's visit tomorrow. We moved in here in mid-April, but she's almost three hours away.
I'll have to study up on how to post pictures in my posts again...bizi, anybody??
