Heart

Dear Bizi

i am glad you are feeling better about the business situation. Calling clients you haven't seen in a while sounds like a good starting point.

i couldn't hear the clip right now because the tv is on, but it was funny just watching Anderson's facials. i assume though that the Depardieu incident was accidental and due to a medical condition, so i feel rather bad that he is being ridiculed for it. i guess as a comic actor he can probably appreciate it... i hope so. i am sensitive to ridicule so perhaps not the most receptive audience in this case.

(((hugs)))

interesting. Is that the difference btw comedy & tragedy... Not caring (or even noticing) the effect of something on someone vs noticing/caring?

Hmm.

Sorry.

that's an interesting thought. often something comic is indeed at the expense of someone or something. not always though, is the "expense" a serious one. someone might trip over and look silly, but might not hurt themselves. or they might land in hospital and it could still be staged as funny (i give you the Pink Panther series of films and the misadventures of Dreyfus at the hands of Clouseau). ridicule or not i myself could hardly "contain" myself at those torturous scenes... pun fully intended.

BUT that was FICTION. An aging man with... guessing here... incontinence issues.... publicly ridiculed by the press... that to me is different. it is not comedy. it is only ridicule. (in my opinionated opinion).

maybe i'm confused. i don't know how the "tinkle" happened. if the dude pulled his fly with a grin and "aimlessly" whizzed in the aircraft aisle, then he had this coming, he was the Protagonist and Prima Donna and could ask for nothing better than what he got.

BUT .... is the line btw "fiction" & "non-fiction" (what we used to call reality or life) all that clear anymore? Have you seen Reality shows? If I "rehearse" what I'm going to say to my boss, hire a writer, go way over the top, is that reality? There are so many shades btw fiction and non-fiction that the sharp line of demarcation wiggles around all the time, me thinks!

What is the reality of this board as a valid "real" experience in my life? For me, very real. But that discussion could go on for decades, probably, as science drives itself nuts defining its terms.

Okay. I'll shut up. But this is fun!

I'd equate that to Depardieu doing what he did on purpose, whether as a "staged" accident or as an open exhibition.

Default Well...

well i managed to hear the audio to Bizi's link, finally, and also found an article that pretty much says the same things Anderson recounts:

http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/ai...on-flight.html

Seems to me, in the best of hypothes, the guy overdrank his bladder capacity via pre take-off cocktails and indeed perhaps tried to be discreet (???) about not soiling himself or the seat.

But i've also heard past incidents of arrogance on his part, so it would not surprise me if that is what it came down to... i guess we can't really know.

Not sure if it is the same thing.

But the thing that caught my eye is.

That when they start having jokes, about epilepsy it isn't a good
thing.

The thing is Its a tragic thing.
