We had a 3.4 aftershock at about 5 AM this morning. It woke me up. I heard that rolling,then rumble sound. BF:hug::hug::hug:

I HATE earthquakes.... I seem to feel even 1.5 ones... ugh... just imagine when we have those 7.5 ones here in Mexico city...
God Bless you BF... :hug: Those scares suck... |
I live near a highway that has 18 wheel trucks coming down the road. Sometimes when they are slowing down I can feel a little rumble.
According to the reports,we have had alot of aftershocks in the 2.0,to 2.5 catagory. I probable ignored them,and thought that they where trucks slowing down to a speed limit from 55 miles per hour,to 35 miles per hour in this zone. If it is above 3.0,I'll probably feel it. I couldn't immagine a 7.0 earthquake. Wow. Blue How many times have you had earthquakes like that? Do you have any active volcanos in your region? BF:hug::hug::hug: |

I don't know if I will ever experience a earthquake again. The seismic activity around here is very rare,and usually very small. These faults around here are ancient,along with the Blue Ridge mountains that are weathering down,compared to the West Coast,and their newer formed mountains. BF:hug::hug::hug: |
Earthquake in New Mexico
The first time I was in New Mexico they'd had an earthquake there, which was a fairly unusual occurrence along (I think) the Sandia Fault. Out on the unpopulated part of the mesa Albuquerque's built on, there was a crack in the earth roughly 8' across! It ran nearly 2 miles across the desert. Plants, rocks, who-knows-what had fallen into the gap.
I wish I could have been there--on a safe perch, knowing where & when it would happen. I was on a overpass in one of the San Francisco freeway systems in one earthquake & saw a bridge section across from me break off & fall. I can still see that. I'll never move back to earthquake country. They've made a quakin' coward outta me! (yes, I said that) |

as far as seismic activity... not something to really hope for. i've been in little ones, but... i wouldn't want to be in a big one. sorta like storms. i loooooooove thunderstorms. i love the sight and sound and smell of them. but when they get cyclone sized... ehhh... thanks but no thanks, i'll pass! ;) ~ waves ~ |
Well said Waves. LOL BF:hug::hug::hug:
