Hi all! Thank you for your concern. It seems now that there are many parts of NJ that were badly hit. The Trenton train station, which was across the street from where I used to work, was under four feet of water.

We made it through pretty well!! The rain and wind really battered this state, and, aside from the creek at the back of our property looking like a river and losing power for 24 hours, we made it through just fine!

We had a battery operated radio and listened to the local radio station taking calls from listeners, reporting on bad areas, and giving updates on the Irene forecast. After 9 pm Saturday night, there were tornado warnings being blasted practically every five minutes, and that was a bit scary . We lost power around 4 am on Sunday, and it was restored around 4 am on Monday. Here are a few pictures of our Irene-swollen river:

deedee

Sending you some hugs, hoping you start to feel better as the time
goes on.

I wasn't close to the sites getting hit. So I am still great.

Hoping all continue to feel better.

When the million of we occasional visitors say we love New York, what 99.9% mean is we love Manhattan. I wonder how many of those millions were like me, trying to mentally puuussshhhh <grunt> those rising Hudson & <uuugh> East Rivers right <groughtt> back into their beds.

If Yuri Geller can bend spoons, I bet millions of minds, working together, can affect a Cat 1 hurricane....
only one elevator is working. i don't know when the other two will be working. the cats have been their normal selves all through this. i should have paid attention to them rather than cnn and cbs. it was a multi leveled depression.
i just put in another order for food and will get a 20 percent discount...yippee

Thanks for sharing the photos Jacquie,
I am glad your power was back on fast. I saw the news with the Trenton Station and felt bad for all those that needed to travel. It will be several days until a lot of our area is with power. One town, Forkston is nearly washed from the map. My nephew was called out for the National Guard to the town. They ended up air lifting them. The roads were destroyed when the water receeded.

I have been busy since Tuesday with weather related claims. The Pocono's where I was yesterday, were without elec., trees down along the road, wires. Roads were closed from the water wash out and detoured.
Mostly trees down onto sides of homes and laying on wires.

Thursday going to Lancaster on a fall at a bar.A man dropped his keys, bent down to pick them up. So off to do the scene photo's diagram and make a copy of the surveillance tape.
But, the claims are still coming in for Friday, and through the weekend. I WILL take Monday off.
chat tomorrow night,
di
