Hi Waves

I'm hanging in there. I am depressed, and have that anxiety pain in my chest. This happens to me,and I don't know why. I don't seem to have any energy. I'm not interested in very much of anything right now.

My reading is hindered by a reading problem. I think that it's dyslexia, and OCD combined. I still read, but not for long periods of time. I do like science fiction.

I wish that I had a better report. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Movie time?

If there's a library nearby, you could request a bunch of sci-fi movies & have your own film festival. What do you think? Popcorn, Good & Plenties?

I will get better. This type of thing doesn't last to long. I just have to live through it till I feel better. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Dear Friend,
What do you do to amuse yourself? The radio you have?

M

Brokenfriend 09-01-2011 09:56 PM

Thank you Mari.

I'm mostly watching TV. I have the scanners going, but the local police are silent right now. They also use computers, cellphones, and blackberries. I hear very little on the radios.

I could go to Shortwave radio,or High Frequency, and listen to Worldwide broadcast,Amature Radio operators, and utility frequencies, but it takes so much time finding something worth listening to.

I'm just blah right now. My moods will get better probably soon. They sometimes get worse if someone,or the News freaks me out. I'm trying to stay away from the news, and what the government wants to cut. BF:hug::hug::hug:

I check out by watching a lot of TV, too. It numbs the mind, but I also watch a lot of educational programming. Crime shows- they usually catch the bad guy. And adult cartoons and some kids cartoons.

Comic books are entertaining and the reading is light.
And you can also get very inexpensive used movies on amazon and ebay- they tell you the condition in the advert.

I hope this lets up for you soon! Hang in there!
Kay

Old VCR tape

Ever heard of an old Chinese film, Red Firecracker, Green Firecracker? Really good, fabulous music trak. I'd forgotten what better quality VCR was compared with DVD.

I love getting lost in another culture & historical period but with characters simply motivated: love, hate, greed, fear, desire.

I watch numb tv too

Hi, BlueCarGal,

I looked up Red Firecracker, Green Firecracker. It looks like a beautiful film. I'd like the strong female lead. Netflix has it --- not that I want to go through the trouble of dealing with Netflix.

Hi, Kay,
Do you ever watch Thomas the Tank Engine? I caught it a few times when i was still up.

Hi, Kay, BlueCarGirl, Waves, Steve,

I'm embarrassed to reveal too much of my tv viewing habits to show how boring I am. I only watch shows that are not very interesting. I don't want to get drawn in -- like a b movie on cable that is so bad I don't remember that it ever came out. . . . . or a movie I watched five times already.

When I watch, I turn the sound as low as possible so that the music does not "reach" me.

I'm looking forward to a few shows coming back in the fall: The Good Wife ( law drama with some strong lead actors and a spring cliff hanger the writers might resolve sometime in the fall) and Parenthood (ok writing, strong actors). Last year both shows came on at the same time on the same night!!!!
I used to watch Brothers and Sisters and Private Practice but I've gotten bored with them. They have been on too long and The Practice triggers me once in a while with too much medical. Brothers and Sisters was cancelled in the beginning of the summer.
I like the comedy the Big Bang Theory, but I can see tiring of it.

I watch the period pieces on Masterpiece when they come on (not very often) because they are eye candy fluff-- fun to watch for the costumes and the dialogue.

Maybe we will have some new series in the fall.

My favorite show this summer was Morning Joe that I record to watch later. I can't explain why I like it. I like the Mika and Joe personas although in real life I hate Joe's political views ( and he is one of the ones with a dead intern problem who can never run for office again). I usually only watch the first 20 mins for their slant on yesterday's news and I sometimes learn a few things from their regular guests. I don't like the featured guests . . . .stop watching when I get to someone selling their book or whatever.

I've made a little vow to update my self by watching and learning a little about basket ball. My students often refer to the games.

M.
