You are allowed to do this the way that works best for you. It's ok to call people back tomorrow and let them know what is going on.
Let the pdoc's office know exactly what is going on. The pdoc can keep an eye on you like Jeff is doing.

I am not sure if I have ever taken 30 mg, but with my asthma I've taken 20 mg's a lot of times. And I mean for 12 days for all three dosages I think, then tapered down to 10mg, and 5mg. I had to have two different dosages because of it though. Because I could split either the 20mg or the 10mg but not both.

But I had such a severe infection with the breathing side, that it needed a
strong amount, for a long amount of time. But the first dosage of
presidone didn't work. So I had to start over, was why the high amount.

But I believe it might be why he/she is setting up the 30mg for you.

wondering if you've been in touch with pdoc yet... and what the verdict is on your taking oral prednisone...

no I have not called her and no I have not taken the prednisone, I got up late did not sleep well...I did not even have time to wash my face let alone deal with it med wise so I am home now for lunch and will take care of my face now. I had to get up at 4 am because there was so much itching I don't like how the ointment feels compared to the cream I will use them both, the ointment during the day and the cream at night.
Thank you all for your continued support. The bandage covers most of the wounds so that way I can work and not gross people out.
I think the prednisone might have worked to immediately decrease the swelling and inflamation but I don't think it is worth going manic over...I was definately thinging about a quick fix...

i am glad you did not take the prednisone without consulting the pdoc first.

does the ointment or cream contain any sort of steroid? if not, you might need one that does. i don't know if the one-time sub-dermal shots will be enough, if you are still this inflamed. we'll see.

you are supposed to check in with pdoc again in a couple days, right? about the Klonopin? if you *really* don't want to call her specifically before, i would certainly bring up the prednisone option then.

i hope things get sorted out for you soon, one way or another. this sounds so terribly uncomfortable. (((hugs)))

I called the derm office to let them know that I was afraid to take the prednisone because of fear of steroid induced psychosis because I am bipolar. So I let them know.
I called the pdocs office and left a message that I was going to take predinisone but that I did not do that. and I have not taken extra klonipin.
I jsut tried to call my tdoc and they are out of the office and I am to call back tomorrow.
waves that is an excellent suggestion about asking about a steroid cream....I had asked if they had any alternative medication...no call back yet.
I need to be eating better more protein, I know these things jsut can't seem to get my act together...nutrition is so important to wound healing.

I just got a phone call from the Dermatologist's office they are calling in a steroid cream to be used for only one week. ( longer than that can back fire she said) and an oral antiinflamatory to be taken once a day, it is very expensive so they are giving me samples which I appreciated very much. that will be for a month. I am glad they were responsive and had alternatives for me.
Very happy about this.
I am trying not to totally freak out about this...my anxiety level is really running high which is not helping the matter. rosacea flares with stress.
If I had more of a routine with every thing I would feel better but I don't.
I need to calm down...drink my blue berry beer and chill. doing some laundry and then ironing then showering so should be a productive nite.
jeff just called and he is on his way home, we are going to have pork chops for dinner. and salads.
I am taking extra zinc and my regular vitamins and supplements.

sounds like you are on top of things. soooo glad you called the Derm back and that they gave you a steroid cream and oral nsaids. very good idea to take extra Zinc and vitamins for healing too. you are doing great.

remember to keep the extra klonopin option open... i think your pdoc said it was ok for a few days right? just be careful if you have to drive. remember your level will build up if you take extra multiple days in a row.

oh yeah... blueberry beer will work too!

i'm proud of you for making those calls. i get the sense that was very hard for you.
