Default I am finally taking DH to see his pdoc today

Hi all, I'm sorry that I haven't been around here very much for these past several weeks, but you are not forgotten . Things have been moving along from day to day, but I still don't feel that I have my husband back yet. He is NOTHING like the way he used to be, and I am finally going to take him to the doctor who has treated him since 2003. I'm sure that he will notice the difference immediately. I spoke to my DH yesterday when I was driving, and I asked if he felt the same as he did before all of this, and he said he didn't feel like he used to. He is just so flat and emotionless all of the time, which isn't the way he used to be. That and the fact that his body is so STIFF and SLOW in his mannerisms and movements, it looks like he has some sort of physical affliction. Any way, I hope that this doctor will make some major changes in his meds, or whatever he thinks best. The difference in his whole person is so very noticeable; I hope he can figure out this puzzle.

I will let you know how the appointment goes -- WISH ME LUCK!

Dear Jacquie

good to see you and thanks for the update. Sorry to hear your hubby is still not doing so well.

what you describe sound like med side effects to me... his pdoc should be able to help him.

i recall in your last post there were some issues with his kidney function... have you been able to get in to see the specialist?

let us know what the pdoc says.

(((hugs)))

Sending all the best thoughts your way for you & DH & meeting with pdoc that adjustments can be made & healing will begin to show. It is so hard for you both.

Thank you, waves, for agreeing with my belief that this is a med side effect problem. Neither my son or d-i-l know much about this condition, and their assumption is that he has permanent brain damage from the CO2 poisoning, and that is affecting his demeanor...however, he was not like this when he first got out of the hospital at the end of March and up through when he was hospitalized on June 10th. Aside from his manic episode , the only things that have changed since March are ALL of his psych meds. He was given strong meds to eliminate the mania, but, now that he is no longer manic, they need to dial it back some, which my kids don't understand. They think he needs the meds the way they are to keep him from having another manic episode. Of course, they have not done the extensive reading, writing and research on the meds involved here.

We didn't get him to the pdoc as I had hoped - communication problem - but I did find out that he can see his own pdoc, and basically then, 'fire' the doc at the program. Makes much more sense to me, as the doc at the program has seen him only once, while his pdoc has been seeing him since 2003. Makes sense, right??

I will keep you all posted on the progress of this issue.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On another topic, I received a letter from Disability that is giving me info about a tempory password, so that I can log on the the SS website and create a permanent one by Nov 13th. Then I read the following:
If you are a new beneficiary, please make sure that you have received your notice of benefit payment or your first payment before you try to register a password. I guess that I am a 'new beneficiary' - YIPEE!!! We can sure use the money, as I have seen our money dwindling down to a smaller and smaller figure for the past six months.
I should be celebrating!! (I figured I would be approved, but I wanted to see it in writing, and it's been awhile since my appointment)
Dear Jacquie,
I hope he gets his meds adjusted. The input from son and dil is well meaning I am sure but your understanding makes perfect sense to me. Get him away from the pdoc at the program. The guy will be better with a pdoc who is focussed on his whole being.
Good news about getting approved!
Great news from SS!
As for the rest, Mari said it all I think. I would only repeat in other words. Duh.
Go for it, gal.
Thanks, guys! My grandson has a football game at noon; maybe we'll go out for an earlt dinner later on? I looked in our xhexking account, and found that I had already received my first payment from S.S. directly into my checking account - what a pleasant surprise .
I will call the doc on Monday to get an appt ASAP; even my DH is anxious to go see him as well. For now, it's just a lazy Sunday at home
Here is a picture of our house with the Fall decorations we have so far:
