Default Depression and Anxiety Management Plan

I went to my first ever therapy session the other day. The therapist was very nice and I will be going again next week. She gave me a 'management plan' that she came up with, along with one of her clients who was very depressed and had an analytical (sp) mind. I thought I would share this with you. It does make a lot of sense!

For each week of the month, schedule on your calendar each of the following:

One activity for emotional support (ie, counseling or support group)
One activity for physical support (working out, walking)
One activity for spiritual support (prayer, meditation, inspirational reading)
One activity for intellectual support (class, research something new)
One activity for social support (going out with supportive friend or family member)

If anxiety is a concern, also include a relaxation technique such as deep breathing, meditation, progressive muscle relaxation. It might be helpful to add different techniques so you have several to choose from.

Smile management plan

Dear Jacquie,

That is a reasonable plan -- to do one thing a week.
How do you feel about it?
