I know how difficult this week must be for you. Our dual loss of our Angel daughters is the most difficult challange in our lives. My heart still aches and memories flood, De was 5 years ago, 1/21. I don't think there is any fix or aid except for the bond of friends and the love and prayers they provide.

I always felt that my day to day, in this wakening nightmare was held together by the support of my forum friends.
We are blessed for such caring people in our lives.

Not sure what to say to help get through this week, but know you are loved, your family, husband, kiddo's the grandbabes....even the new pets.

I was going to come on and post about the first anniversary, but I changed my mind. Actually, the week leading up to the 18th was worse than the actual day for some reason. My thoughts kept returning to that day, the most vivid memory is of speaking to Andrea only half an hour before her death, and then opening my bedroom door to incredible flames and smoke when I woke and realized there was no electricity. I also remember the horrible sound of breaking glass.

On the actual anniversary, my DH and I went to see my daughter's best fried. We are in touch often, and she calls us 'mom and dad'. We went out to lunch and had a lovely time. We enjoyed talking about her generosity and her trusting, big heart.

Now, we have Andrea's birthday coming up on Tuesday. In a way, I guess it's good to get both dates over with and done within a week of each other. Last year on her birthday, my son, d-i-l and I were at the Funeral Home signing the cremation forms .

Thanks again for thinking of me! I agree with you, Di, that having the support of this forum has really helped, and I thank you all so very much.

I did get through yesterday. I was in ups and downs. My friend from another forum here is going to be in Florida this Spring when I am down with the kids. Our visits will overlap two days. I was so moved that the timing worked out. It is unimmaginable to think of remembering Andrea's birthday that way. What heart ache. I am glad on the 18th that you had special memories recalled and celebrated your special Angel's life.

De's birthday is Mothers Day. It does not always fall on Mothers Day, but the emotions get strong.
My heart in my chest yesterday felt like it was being squashed and would break in two.

Thanks again, Di. The reason we are leaving on Tuesday is because my son is off from work, and can take us to the airport in Philly. We had to go now because my brother-in-law has the week off, and then can't take off again until April at the earliest.

I know just what you mean about how the memories com flooding back and your heart aches...Funny, you never think something like this will happen to you, and it takes a long time to get through it when it does...

When will you be in Florida, and where? Our cruise ship will be in port at Orlando sometime during the week of March 25th. We are going to go to Universal Studios, we've never been there!

Universal has had updates now, so big from early 1990's. I would check on line for the date you go. THere is a fast pass type program that you can purchase. It gives you a shorter line to wait in, when the day is short there, you want to experiance as much as you can.
You will have fun in the sun. Yes be careful of the burns. We are going the second week of March. Hoping for some warm weather.
