Default Hi DiMarie

Hope you can find a compassionate doctor too. I feel like both are familys are being beaten up a bit with doctors. I will find out on Monday if my PCP talking to my pain specialist worked or not. Hope you find a doc for your son soon. Happy mothers day DiMarie, ginnie

Default Hi Mary

Still waiting for my PCP to call back. Also the pain Doc. still has to call me to. His nurse knew nothing about the conversation between my PCP and pain specialist. I go into the surgeon on thursday. I sure I hope I have the situation resolved by then. Have a good day Mari, thank you for caring about me. I am scared to death over this surgery. Walking is a big deal, I am at risk either way, not doing it, or doing the surgery. Will get more answers. Take care, and do something good foryourself today! ginnie

Default Hi Waves and my friends

Thank you for asking about me. It has been a long long couple of weeks, with searching for doctors and consults. I had to change my pain specialist and found one yesterday, who will cover me in all situations. Thank God above. She has more creditiantials that any one I have. MD, FAAPMR and Board Certified Physiatrist, which I didn't know anything about. I am not in good enough shape for another major surgery. Surgery is post poned. I am to see another orthopedic surgeon she recommends for second opinion. In the mean time, I am now taking a host of suppliments. I also must start injections of B12 Starting today, fun fun fun...I will do it. All of this stuff cost a fortune, and I don't have it. My son will help with the expense. I don't feel good waves, and all the stress on top of it, hit me hard. This doctor picked up on all of it, and let me talk, telling her of all my issues. I felt a connection right away. She also deals with rehabilitation, nutrition, end of life issues, and more. She could actually be my PCP as well. I love my PCP however, and don't know yet if I should give him up in favor of this good new doctor. I am debating. It would simplify my care, not having to go to another physician on a regular basis.
All in all, I am in a better place now, as far as my care goes. I am going to eat better, rest more, take the suppliments, shots, and chill out for awhile.
Of course I will be here with you. Thanks Waves, let me know how you are doing too. I sure do need all of you. ginnie

Ginnie

I think you should keep them both. That way if something happens
and one isn't available you can go to the other. Say one has to go
on leave for a extended time.

Also that way the PCP you are using right now, can keep you leveled.
And you can get used to this one. She sounds very good. But its
best to let her get you on some things. And then when your regular
one retires. You have a new one ready to take over.

Default Re: sounds right

OK Dmom, you make that sound right. This new Doctor is young and highly intelligent. My PCP is a bit older than that, maybe he is 55 or so. I am 60, and sure want to keep someone for as long as I can. I will take your advice because I know you are right. thank you! ginnie

Red face Dear Ginnie... yeah, what Donna said.

Dear Ginnie

I was feeling that you should keep your PCP too, but I couldn't put my finger on it or think of reasons why. Didn't really know how to express it. So now I will just say that I have that feeling, but I agree 10000% with the logic that Donna put behind it as well.
