Thanks Mari! Thanks Bizi, I have some great news. For the first time in 8 years I have some hope. I went to one of the best orthopedic docs. around. He didn't agree with any prognosis or diaganosis I have had with my ankles. I have an MRI on Monday. He promised he would keep me going! He told me not to worry, that he could help. I am not sure what he is thinking yet, but he gave me hope that I won't be in a wheelchair! Not yet, not now. MRI coming up and I am thrilled! ginnie

I am in such a good mood for a change. Just to be given HOPE is medicine!!!!!
I don't have a clue as to what is wrong now, but I am going to trust this doctor that he does! The MRI is a GIFT!!!!! After 7 years of limping around, and renting wheel chairs, now we can get to the bottom of whats wrong. Just to hear his words of "don't worry, I will keep you going" was music to my heart. Thank you all for sharing this hope with me. Can't wait till monday, and then the appt. the following thrusday. Next week is a biggie, I sure will tell you all what happens. I am so glad I found all of you!!!!!! ginnie |

Dear Ginnie
it sure is great to hear you so happy! I look forward to hearing back from your appointment. I am sorry you had to suffer for so long ... but at least it sounds like you finally found someone who is willing and able to help!!! What the doctor said about keeping you going is pretty powerful. i bet you can hardly stay in your skin from the excitement. (((hugs))) ~ waves ~ |

That heart throb is exactly how I feel. What I did was research those that are the best with orthopedic problems in the country. Found a clinic and teaching institute in Ohio. Dr. Berlet, the head of the clinic, and a teacher. I wrote to him. He reviewed my disks via mail. He sent me to his student who is the only one on this coast line, to specialize in funky foot and ankle problems. This doctor Berlet runs the trials for ankle replacement, so he knows his stuff. His student, my doctor now is only one town away, a minor miracle. He is also a young hunky dude, not yet 40, very easy on the eyes, and has a great personality. I am excited and scared all at once. Also having trouble believing my former doctor would misdiagnos me for all these years. How can that happen? Did he just not know what was wrong? Why didn't he do an MRI? That usually does work when you really don't know whats wrong. He never gave me any hope either, and just sent me to a pain specialist. How can two doctors be so different in the same profession?. That is a lesson for all of us, to get more than one opinion that agrees. Since my origional doctor was a specialist himself, I thought I didn't need another opinion. Both foot and ankle specialists, the new guy is additonal orthopedic foot, ankle, and leg reconstruction specialist. The difference is their educational directions. I learned alot about physicians and how and where they get their education. Thanks waves, guess the research was worth it! ginnie
