Default pdoc tomorrow

Hi,

I am going back to bed in a few mintues. I wonder what I have to tell pdoc tomorrow morning (MORNING!!! AAAAGFH!!!!).

I will bring my bottle of Gabapentin from my internist and hope that he will write a 'script for me. I will talk to him about sleep and mood. I will also tell him that I was increasing and decreasing on my own and need his help.

Still feeling drugged. I do not go out. I rarely see the sun. I sleep here and there. My brain is not clear due to all the above. I feel so off. Depressed at the moment.
Later maybe not depressed. Later anxiety. Also I have some agtitation --- as if I could do something --- but really I do not have much of that agitation as I had a few days ago because I am sleeping a little more.

Heart it will be ok

Dear Mari

the main thing is going. He will see you struggling. perhaps, first thing, you could tell him, "I have NOT been functioning." that gets a lot across.

even if things have improved now (good), you could still use the list you typed up last time which i later edited. it could serve just as a reminder, because it still has valid items on it - cpap info seems important.

if you have time, you could use it as a starting point but revise it to reflect current status, esp in the mood and sleep parts.

regarding the "something t calm down." since you're less agitated... i might ask him about an "emergency med" for such situations.

good luck. your morning is my afternoon but the migraines and gabapentin have totally hosed my sleep. i still tend to be awake at my night but daytime is like... ???. anyway, if you want or need more help with editing, you can post or PM me. if i am awake - and sufficiently coherent myself, i will gladly help.

but don't sweat over this. you're going. you SHALL go. pdoc SHALL help you!!!

leave your computer volume on max turn on email sound and i'll bombard you with emails until i get one back saying "mercy, no more, i am awake!" LOLLOL

HI,

I will print and bring the list. It is too much too edit it -- thank you for doing that.

I have to set the alarm for 7:30 AM

He will ask about the cpap even if I do not bring it up -- which I will because it is part of my night sleep issues. I will ask about an emergency med.
Med for what? What do I need? is it for sleep? Anxiety?

Heart checking on you

Dear Mari

I hope you are still fast asleep and that your body and mind are healing.

'Sending good vibes for restful sleep and for the appointment later.

I slept 5.5 hours. am awake to take meds. figured i'd check in. since things seem "under control" lol... I think I'll nap another couple hours myself, instead of getting coffee right away.

Default report from the visit. 100 mgs of Gabapentin four times a day

HI,

The pdoc visit went fine.
I had my print outs (I made a second one for the past two nights' sleeping)
He copied by hand into his chart the sleeping schedule for the past two days.

I put my bottle of Gabapentin from the internist on his desk and he looked at it. We spoke about the dose from the internist.
I told him that I tried to take 300 for a week and messed up my sleep. He joked about my opening the capsules to figure out my dose. I said I want the option to try 300 again some time in the future. He said he would give me 400 a day so I had room to work.

He wrote me 'scripts for 6 months -- this is the second time that I can wait 6 months to see him. He used to make me come in every 4 or 5 months. He said that I can call anytime.

I went to the pharmacy and picked up my meds.
He wrote the Gabapentin 'script for 100 mgs four times a day.
Thank goodness that the craziness of the last 12 months of opening the capsules is over.

Smile he talked a little about Gabapentin

Hi,

Pdoc did say that Gabapentin is a third line med for mood. I reminded him that no anti-depressants worked for me (due to agitation and / or side effects) and that this helped with anxiety within 10 days of starting it. It helped a little bit with depression as well.

He talked about how the Gabba in the Gabapentin has a synergistic relationship with Klonopin.

He said he does not give his patients (he does neuro work too) more than 900. 900 is usually enough to help. But then he said that 1200 was plenty . . . so he was rambling a bit. . . . but because the med is removed from the body so quickly, . . . (something I can't remember).
I think he said that at those doses some people get swelling of the ankles.

He looked ok today. The last two times I saw him he was recovering from falling from a ladder and crushing his ankle. He had refused surgery. He seemed to be walking fine but I did not ask him how he was doing because I wanted him to stay on topic.

Heart

It sounds like your pdoc visit went well.
Am happy to hear of this.
He sounds very receptive to you and your ways of doing things. I like the fact that he gave you extra meds if you need them nothing worse then the fear of running out of meds...we could always call but then we would have to explain....blah blah blah
I once dropped a whole bottle of lamictal in a glass of water and it quickly dissolved right before my eyes into a white heap of meds....it was amazing how fast it all happened. I called right away and got another refill and told my story, we all thought it was sort of funny.
anyway.....
glad that things went well for you.
rest when you are able....
