I always thought that the reason lamictal work for depression was that it help ward off depression when you had a mania.... That is was not an antidepressant per say....are you bipolar 1? That is a high dose of lamictal. I too would worry that the dizzyness is from that.
btw, congratulations on the weight loss if this is a good thing. :)

ugh 7-10 more days of a head ache ...sorry about that.

Thanks, again, new friends.

Hi, :)

Going up and down on meds while waiting for results is stressful. Keep taking care of yourself.

update on mood/head ache

HI new friends,
Despite having gone down on my lamictal, I've still been dizzy ~ worse yesterday than today so far.

I have a call in to pdoc's nurse this morning to let her know.

I've also been extremely agitated. I just can't win! I take 30 abilify normally, and dr prescribed 5 more PRN a while back, which I haven't had to take with the increase in lamictal (to 500), but today and yesterday I've had to take the extra 5 right away in the morning.

Is it possible that the extra abilify in the AM caused my dizziness yesterday? Doesn't seem right since I've had the dizziness since the "head banging incident."

Here is my current dosing of abilify and lamictal:

AM - 10 mg Abilify, 200 mg Lamictal
PRN (anytime after AM dose) = 5 mg Abilify
2:00 PM = 10 mg Abilify
Bedtime: 10 mg Abilify, 200 Lamictal

I also take lorazepam (1/2 of .5 mg) up to three times per day. I hardly ever take it the third time, and only took it once in the morning yesterday.

For the pain, I'm taking Voltaren (NSAID) three times per day with 2 doses of tylenol in between.

I also take cymbalta in the morning (120 mg)

Hi,

Yes, it hard to figure out exactly what causes what.
It could be that the dose of Abilify in the morning caused the dizziness.

Going down on the Lamictal as quickly as you have could cause agitation.

It is interesting that you are taking the abilify 3 times a day, I always thought it was once a day dosing, I don't know anything about it really so I will be quiet. sorry for the dizziness still could be related to your head injury.
how is the head ache?

I personally think that the dizziness is probably more connected to
the head injury.

I have always had dizziness come and go with my head injuries.

Its not something that goes away fast, or is easy to get rid of for me.
I would start seeing if you can take it more easy in the morning.

I'm guessing its more when you start to try and get up and start going
in the morning when it strikes the most. If this is the case. Try taking
a few more moments to get going in the morning. See if you can take
a few more steps to quietly get up in the morning.

I always had to spend about 30 minutes earlier than usual in the morning,
working to get my dizziness under control. I would do some exercises that
my physical therapist had taught me for my dizziness and some other problems.
