The semester is winding down here maybe it is there also??????could you wear ear plugs at work?how about closing your door, getting out side at lunchtime and taking a walk around campus???
just thinking about your situation. I don't know how you get caught up at work, do you bring papers to home to work on them there?

Bizi,

Those are good ideas but they do not work for me most days. People are coming up to me all day long.
Late yesterday afternoon one colleague was complaining about another. She was REALLY upset and I had to calm her down.
Another colleague put me on a difficult committee. I told him I would not be able to make it on Thursday.

I do not know how I get caught up. Usually I do not really get caught up. Eventually the semester just ends and we break for two or three weeks and start again.

I am bringing candy today. Sometimes that buys me some good will with the students.

Really really behind on my work.

Those are two big stressors! Do you have a job where you are able to take a little nap in the afternoon? I don't know, some people say naps mess up their nighttime sleep so that may not work anyway. Regardless, I hope you are able to sleep well tonight. A good night's sleep has a way of resetting my brain and emotions.

Butterfly That's a good idea. At lunch,I would take a nap for maybe 10 minutes. Other people swear by this. I think that they say a 15 minute nap at lunch goes real far as to helping you get through the rest of the day. BF:hug::hug::hug:

mood changing throughout the day maybe?

Today I woke up feeling good.
The afternoon stayed good at an appointment and running errands.
Then the evening and night at home were awful. I am so confused about how to take care of myself.
I think I was tired from not sleeping the past four nights.
But now, at this moment, I feel o.k. I am in a better mood and I feel like staying up.

Hi Mari I'm sorry that you felt awful. I'm glad that you feel better at this time. Try to get some sleep. I'm going to try to do the same. BF:hug::hug::hug:

oh Mari

Dear Mari

I don't know what to say in terms of useful advice. I feel at a loss. But i want you to know i'm rooting for you. "There must be some way outta here" ... but i don't know what it is. I hope the way finds you. I hope you are able to sleep better, rest better.

The things you are reporting suggest mixed symptoms. What preoccupies is you have more than once reported both kinds every day, albeit at different times of the day. Another possibility is ultra-rapid cycling. Lack of sleep can induce this sort of thing. It may be time to talk to pdoc about this, leave out the theories - just the symptoms - feel good in the morning, feel like crud in the evening, days where had to leave work because were going to blow gasket, etc... tell him the gamut of your experience in past 2-3 weeks.

I can't remember if you've ever tried Depakote. If not... it might be a something to try - excellent for both mixed & rapid cycling symptoms. The verapamil may not be as effective now as it was once. That said I don't think it needs to be stopped to try Depakote though. different animals.

Well i said more than i thought i would. Dunno if it will be helpful.

But i still want to send you lots of hugs :hug::hug::hug::hug:

and love :heartthrob::heartthrob::heartthrob:

Please hang in there the best you can. Take things a moment at a time.
"We will get by." ;)

Waves,

You could be right. I have been thinking of that as well.
I hope that getting sleep can settle down the moods.
