I love most squashes, butternut soup is a favorite of mine.
We eat spagetti squash with meat sauce. what did you squah look like and how did it turn out?

Derrick's special olympics time went to district today.

Derrick got a first, we were surprised we thought he was in second
place. But you can't tell because of the handicap they bowl with.

The squash came out fine.
My cleaning lady wrapped them in itn foil and stuck a knife in them. Then we placed them in the a 425 oven for two hours. I took pictures of one of them when it was whole and then when it was cut open. I included the salt shaker and teaspoon so you can see the size of the squash.

What variety are they? I don't think I've seen them before!

Perhaps they are Table Gold or a version of it --- I specifically remember the "Gold" part. They had much more flavor than butternut squash but were probably similar to acorn squash in taste.
I bought them at my neighborhood chain store -- Publix.
