I'm glad that I wasn't born in the South Pole. They really have big problems with bitter cold, and freezing weather.

Hi, Steve,

I saw this on Facebook and thought of the many people from different countries who work there during some parts of the year. (November to March?)

Thank you Mari. I did a little research. There are no permanent human residents down there when it gets that cold. When it warms up,there is probably human activity in those areas. BF

Steve,

I guess they all get carried out by plane or helicopter and ship before the bad weather sets it.
It seems like even getting there and back is probably physically arduous.
I wonder if they go through physical and psychological training like we used to hear about the astronauts doing.

Here's a interesting Nebula. I don't think that I've seen it before on here.

Hi, Steve,

I like this.

Quote:
Explanation:
Blown by the wind from a massive star, this interstellar apparition has a surprisingly familiar shape. Cataloged as NGC 7635, it is also known simply as The Bubble Nebula.
Although it looks delicate, the 10 light-year diameter bubble offers evidence of violent processes at work. Above and right of the Bubble's center is a hot, O star, several hundred thousand times more luminous and around 45 times more massive than the Sun

Default Hi space gang

The bubble galaxy was great. I had not seen that one before. Also I found a paper weight, clear class, with multiple bubbles in it for my project. Are we just one bubble in a bubble universe? It fit exactly right, and I did put that question below it. I do have some pictures now of the vertical galaxy I am working on. Can get it to private e-mail through my Samsung, but haven't figured out how to get it to NT. I am waiting for the Planetarium to call me. I have hope yet that they will. ginnie

Thank you Mari. It is a beautiful sight in space.

Ginnie Earth is a very small place in the Galaxy, and Universe, but the Earth is very important in the Universe.

The Earth is moving along with the rest of the objects in space. I don't know how fast we are moving, but we are probably not in the same part of space since each of our births. BF
