Default Looking for some special words or wisdom

Hi Everyone!

I have a great group of Parent Support Volunteers. And IN*SOURCE does
a newsletter each month. You may remember I had the honor of being
the first one to do a article for it on Epiepsy.

Well they are working on the new year. And its time for December.

And the title is " The Gift of Volunteers"

I am looking for some good ways to word my thoughts. But not sure
yet how. Any ideas. I'd like to use some quotes. If anyone knows
or see's any good ones online that they can link in this thread. I would
appreciate it.

Vounteer's do some of the following, if this helps!

1. Talk to parents, help work through problems, answer questions, write letters sometimes.
2. Go to case conference's
3. Help me with Fairs. And other activities that might come up.

there are other things that I'm not thinking about on the top of my head.

Donna,

Maybe you can tell a story about the children. You can talk about a certain student who got help from the organization from a few years ago, what the people in the organization did, and how the student has a better life now.

Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.
~Author Unknown

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
~Leo Buscaglia

You may not have saved a lot of money in your life, but if you have saved a lot of heartaches for other folks, you are a pretty rich man.
~Seth Parker

“Faced with what seems like an impossible task, a group of folks will do well to remember the African proverb: When spider webs unite they can tie up a lion.”
~Johnnetta B. Cole

"Volunteers polish up the rough spots in our communities."
~ Alice Sandstrom

May our adversities make us strong.
May our victories make us wise.
May our actions make us proud."
~H. Brown

"What is success?
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed
social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;
That is to have succeeded."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is a rare and high privilege to be in a position to help people understand the differences that they can make not only in their own lives but in the lives of others by simply giving of themselves. --Helen Boosalis

Thank You Mari

Exactly what I wanted.

I have a good looking copy. I'm tweaking and hopefully will send.

I'm getting better at this.

I will not be sending this copy to my supervisor. The girl doing the
newsletter, offered to do the editing for me.
