I am so agitated.

Dad and Hubby say they are flexible, but when I make a suggestion about what or where we will do something, Dad and Hubby attack me.

Dad told me on the phone that Mom only likes this but not the other thing that I am planning. He is wrong. Mom loves my idea.

Hubby is the same way. He says that he does not care. When I tell him what kinds of things my parents like, he argues with me.

Houseguests + holidays. That is a lot. I hope that everyone will chill out and be open and honest about what they do or don't want to do. Maybe you & your Mom could go do something together and if the men don't want to go, they don't have to.

I hope you are able to enjoy your time with your parents.

Mom and Dad go to church weekly (they hosted a Pasada at their house Wed. night where in the church group re-enacts the night before Christmas http://gomexico.about.com/od/festiva.../a/posadas.htm )
but do not do the secular part of Christmas of presents or special food or anything like that. For them it is strictly a religious holiday.

When they visit people they stay in hotels.
Hubby and I do not any part of Christmas at all --- neither secular nor religious. I am grateful for that.

They arrive in 8 days.

Dad is coming here partly to work with me on a book he has been writing and partly to spend time with me.

Hubby and Mom spend time together in the day.

Then all four of us meet up for dinner each of the three nights.

I'm sorry Mari. Christmases are so hard to deal with these days. So much pressure on the roads,in the stores,and TV commercials. Try to relax. BF

I am uncomfortable around people on Christmas. I shouldn't be. This must have slowly occurred when I was growing up. I had a hard time in school because of my mental health condition. I couldn't concentrate when I was in Kinder garden,and in the first 3 grades. Then I failed 3rd grade. I heard what was being said about me behind my back sometimes. I was hindered,not stupid. I'm glad that they gave IQ tests back then. After those tests,it proved to my mother that I was not stupid. I had mental health problems. They didn't know about these things back then. If it where now,I would have received help. Then I got sent to Military School for my reading problem in Junior High School. What a mistake. BF
