Just thought you might like to read something, this was my doctor.. He saved me from a myriad of drugs, know he's in court..
“Doctors are trained to treat patients, not to be detectives,” says Dr. James N. Campbell, a Johns Hopkins University neurosurgeon specializing in pain, who will be another witness for Dr. Hurwitz. He says that doctors have already reacted to the D.E.A. crackdown by changing the way they deal with the many Americans — at least 50 million, by several estimates — who suffer from chronic pain. “Opioids were a revolution in pain treatment during the 1990s, but doctors are now more reluctant to use them,” Dr. Campbell says. “If a doctor perceives there’s a 1 in 5,000 chance that a prescription will lead to a D.E.A. inquiry — just an inquiry, not even an arrest — he’s not going to take the chance. So the victims are the patients.” One more time we get slammed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, |

That's lousy, Mark. Even the pahrmacies act like the Gestapo around here ! They make you feel like a criminal when you try to have your pain med script filled! I have had to contact the general offices at CVS, where I normally go to get my med scripts filled, because they had told me, at different times, that my medication (Kadian) couldn't be ordered, or could only be ordered by one person, and that person would be gone for 2 weeks . I wrote from work, with my ssa.gov e-mail address, and I think they may have helped somewhat. I have been promised that they will now stock enough extra, in case the ordering person is away for any length of time....Of course, they assured me of that in December, and then in February, I had to go through the same thing all over AGAIN, and I told them so.
It should never be that hard just to get our pain meds!! Jacquie
