I'm sorry ya'll I feel like I'm always posting about food or sweets on here. It's just that I take my depakote with supper and the munchies usually hit me about 2 hours later, the same time I usually get the children to bed and get on the laptop. I am *usually* able to resist actually eating, but am thinking about it, even though I tell myself I just ate supper and am not actually hungry.

Mari - I usually get to go about once every 2 weeks. There is one inside my Walmart so sometimes we eat there before grocery shopping. My 3 children split a foot long turkey - they love the shredded cheese sprinkled on it - so because they share it is economical. My only beef with them (no pun intended) is that for some reason they don't always chocolate milk stocked and my 4 and 2 year olds have had tantrums over it which made us all miserable. They don't understand the concept of the milk delivery guy only comes on Mondays or whatever. In my area anyway, it is the healthiest "fast food" around. waves - I love their tuna but that price is outrageous!

I love your posts

Hi, Butterfly, :)

Tell Subway to coordinate your visits to Walmart with their chocolate milk deliveries.
I can understand why your 4 and 2 year olds get disappointed about the absence of choc milk.
I would too. :hissyfit:

You are organized if you can deal with the whole gang for a Walmart shopping trip.
Is your store huge? As big as a football field?
I think it is great that you eat first and that the eating is done right in the store.
You are a good manager of time and resources.

Talking about food is good and part of the journey.
We have many food threads started on here: inexpensive meals, various diet threads (vegan, low carb , . . . ) . .
. . .a dessert thread, a pie thread, a pumpkin thread, . . various restaurant threads, . . .
. . .maybe some other similar ones . . . some others . . . . :D

To explain, my 4 year old boy has a sensitivity to carbonated drinks. Ever since he was little and could talk he would say "it's spicy" whenever we'd be eating out and tried to give him 7up or Sprite. I never understood because I thought every child like 7up. Well at about 3 years old he was better able to explain that "it burns my tongue". He will only drink choclate milk, apple juice, and sometimes lemonade if I cut it with half water. Now my 2 year old says "it burns" but I think she has picked that up from him. I think it is an aversion to the carbonation. They just don't like anything carbonated. I think it has to do with the carbonation, even though they have no idea what that is. Because I tried to give them root beer at a pizza place and he took one sip and started the whole "it burns my tongue" thing.

Thank you for the compliment! When we go grocery shopping it is quite an adventure! Yes, Mari, our Walmart is huge. It has a grocery side and then a non-food/home side. Us having full stomachs definitely helps things go more smoothly. The only hitch with that is that sometimes after we eat, I am about a third of the way into my shopping list, and one of them has to go to the bathroom. I'm not gonna lie, that makes me feel like I'm gonna lose. my. mind. I can't bring a cart full of groceries into the bathroom, so no matter who needs it - (which is usually my 6 year old daughter) I have to unstrap my 2 year old from the cart (you know, where the child sits facing you), have my little boy cover his eyes, and we all go into the ladies bathroom. That usually goes pretty smooth but it's the strapping my little girl back in that is a nightmare. See once she's out she wants to stay out. She HATES getting back in the cart and fights me. My 4 year old boy sits inside the cart part and rides until it gets too full with groceries then he has to get out and walk. And it's a constant "stay with Mommy" "don't touch that" you know how it goes. If it gets too out of control I make him hold hands with my 6 year old daughter. Oh my, he *hates* that! So that usually will calm him down for a little while. Like I said, it's an adventure. I try to make it as much "manageable chaos" as I can.

Dear Butterfly,

Your Walmart trips have enough coordination and planning for a halftime show except that you go for longer!

My mother took the four of us grocery shopping to the next town with her once a month. She was happy when at least two of us were at a different event or got old enough to stay home by ourselves so she only had two little people to keep track of in the store.

Hugs.

Mari
