Arrow Article: Researchers are developing a grapefruit that does not interact with meds

Hi,

I found this article:

Researchers pinpoint culprits in grapefruit/drug interactions, UF/IFAS citrus breeder says
Filed under Agriculture, Health, Research on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.

http://news.ufl.edu/2012/12/19/grapefruit-2/
Quote:
Scientists have been aware of the so-called “grapefruit juice effect” since 1989. Compounds in the fruit called furanocoumarins inhibit the action of an enzyme that breaks down certain medications in the human digestive system.
Quote:
More importantly, juice samples from 40 different hybrids and their parents were tested directly for their overall effect on enzyme activity, and one of the selected hybrids approved for impending release, known as UF 914, was among the samples with the lowest effect.
Growers are making a new Grapefruit for people on certain medications.

Here is the hybrid they like (UF 914)

They created it from a Pomelo.
I tasted a Pomelo before but I cannot remember if it tasted like grapefruit. I do remember that it is huge.
Here someone demonstrates how to peal it.
