Heart thyroid ultrasound results & misc updates

I found out yesterday I have 2 nodules on my thyroid. One is 2mm round and the other nodule is 4mmx3mm. The internist said she see small ones like these often. She said I am to repeat the ultrasound in one year to see if there is growth.

My new friend from South Africa came over today. We had a lovely time! She showed me how to make playdough. Flour, salt, tartar, I don't remember what else, but we cooked it in a pot then it cooled. The children thought it was quite fascinating (secretly so did I). We never lacked for conversation. As a matter of fact I didn't even get to ask her what kind of music she listens to or some of the other suggestions ya'll made. So I will save them for next time. We are going to have another playdate in 2 weeks.

Now that the thyroid ultrasound is behind me I am now in the process of deciding whether or not to get a C/T scan done of this abdominal hernia. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Oh, and I had coffee with the lady from church and it went well. Our husbands kept our respective children so it was just she & I. She was very nice. I explained how I knew my hairdresser, how I met my husband, where I was born, etc. We just generally got to know more about each other. I told her a little about our bad experience at that church back in 2003. She was understanding. She is very nice and easy to talk to. I am slowly feeling like I am having friends again.

Speaking of which, my friend that passed on, I sent her husband a message on facebook this morning. I asked if we could go over. No reply yet. Please send prayers and good thoughts that he responds. I would like to see her daughter but I don't know how hard to push. No closet cleaning, no deep talks, I just want to spend time with her daughter, juster her & I or maybe take her out to lunch with my daughter, something like that. Please pray or send good thoughts that this would happen soon.

I love all of you

The last 3 mornings I have woken up feeling like I could get up. That is in much contrast to how it's been since before Christmas when I could barely drag myself out of bed. I've only been on the synthroid & adrenal cortex a little over a week. That's not very long so I'm guessing it's a placebo reaction. I'm hoping it's not the beginning of some hypomania, I have been very stressed about this medical stuff lately.

Butterfly

Its possible that you could definately be feeling a little better from the
meds. And from your seeing friends. And just having things to do.

I'm so glad things are better.

Butterfly,
The synthroid probably can start helping you after a week. --- not an expert of course.
I am happy to hear that you are feeling better. You will know soon if it is hypomania and know to talk to the doctor/s.

Heart things are looking up

Dear Butterfly,

I am glad you are feeling better. I think it's a combination of the meds and like Donna said, having some positive social interaction. Both the coffee with the church lady, and the playdate sounded like they went very well.

I also think it's great you found it in you to contact your best friend's husband on facebook. You can tell him what you want/need. And that you aren't ready to face closets. I like the idea of spending time with her daughter.

Yes, you are right, having things to do is nice. At least I have the energy required to do things as they are coming up lately.

It's not feeling like hypomania so I'm encouraged that I can have energy again within the "normal" ranges.
