Shocked Called to Jury duty!?!

I am a little freaked out.
Today's mail:
I am due to report for Jury Duty April 12. I will see my pdoc in five days. While there I will watch his office people fax in my excuse.

Hubby still has wiring going on in the living room, I have a work job due tonight that is causing me anxiety, and my friend is coming over in an hour or two so we can go out to dinner because she needs to talk.

I took a little Klonopin (0.5) from my night med pile.

Heart oh gosh that happened to me once is that scary or what!

LOL Mari

I know the feeling. I really do! I was called to Jury Duty once, much to my own surprise. I was exempt and it was pretty easy to sort out, so it was no big deal in the end, but it did sure did freak me out when I got that thing in the mail!

I don't know about you, but with me it was a case of "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing."

Hold on to your hat and don't worry. Your pdoc's office will take care of it for you. This ball will be halted in mid-roll.

Waves:

I have been called four times
~once for a DUI case that lasted one full day- we found not guilty

~ a second time but for federal court having to do with an airport case only a few months after 9-11. This was going to be a "he said / he said case" they told us. Potential jury members were asked if we usually believed police or if we usually disbelieved police. I answered truthfully for myself when I said that that cops lie. The lawyer for the defense asked me another question and then a little later the judge let some of us go.

~ a third time and again for federal court for conspiracy in a drug trial -- I was not selected for the jury because I said that the case resembled too much something that my brother had done and I did not feel I could be fair.

~ another time we had to move from room to little room and stay ready. Late we were finally let go after the two parties settled. Our presence pushed them to a settlement.

Being in the court room is hard. You have to get there very early. You have to follow every little rule correctly. The rooms are designed to evoke the power of government. I get much anxiety.
I going to get excused from now on.
I did my share.

Oh I'd say!!! My goodness, you'd think the jurors were on trial!!!

So glad I was exempt! I actually felt it might have been interesting, but it sounds much more like a big PITA!

aghh! commercial over... gotta get back to Harry's adventures at Hogwart's!

Unhappy

So far I have gotten out of jury duty because of my agoraphobia....I can't go anywhere without being with someone I know and they have to be right next to me.

I also used to work in the jail and for 911. So my opinions a pretty scewed to begin with!!!

I hate to say but I have a tendency to think someome is quilty until proven innocent....

I've been called to Jury duty a number of times. Your doctor's notes can get you out of it. BF

Cross each bridge as it comes. Try to just be shoulder for he friend to discuss, pat her hand tell her you hear her. Even if its out of your ability to help. Clear yours self to work on your project. Sending hugs,

Heart

you have a lot going on...hopefully you were able to support your friend and tell her that you had work that needed to get done and were able to finish the project. I was called one time for jury duty and called my pdocs office they made it go away and I have never been called back. Wonder what was in her letter that I was incompetent to stand trial????
anyway hope your day today goes well and maybe you are able to rest sometime today.

I am sorry that you suffer with agoraphobia....that must be such an awful state of mind. It makes it all that much more special that we got to meet.
take care of yourself.

I just filled out the paperwork a month or so ago.

For both Derrick and I. We will see if eiter one of us gets the paperwork to
get called. In Indiana, its good for a year.

Derrick made the request to wait till after his graduation which I think
the judge will honor. We put down June 9th I think.
