Default Upset

yesterday i talked to my friend and she started mentioning that i should prepare for a nursing home in the future. I felt as if she wasn't my friend because she knows how i worry. I don't have the money to get into a good nursing home and i might not need it. I am only 69 now and at the senior center, a lot of them are in their eighties and are living by themselves.....four at my table. She also mentioned that i should be prepared in case the new psychiatrist thinks i need a residential home which I do not. that also upset me.

Bobby

You have every right to be upset.

But you are right many live to be in the eighty's and ninety's before needing
a nursing home.

For one my mother in law was 95 before she moved in with my brother-in-law.
She was legally blind and lived by herself. Even though she lived next door
to me.

And she wasn't driving. She was very independent. And spent much of her
time alone in her home. She only moved in with family when she broke
her hip. And wasn't comfortable living alone anymore.

I know lots of people that live to be lots older that don't need nursing homes.

You are doing fantastic.

So don't let it bother you.

Shocked whooooaaaaah! talk about from left field!

Oh MAN!

I am so sorry, Bobby. I don't know what to say. I am TOTALLY flabbergasted! I hope this is not the same friend that helps with rent? That would be even more upsetting.

Sending lots of (((hugs)))

this is a different friend. i just got back from going with cecilia to put down her dog who was 16 and 5 months. It was so sad but he had a very good life.
I don't know what got into my friend. right now i need a cooling off period.
I am having a consultation about my teeth this friday which is a bit anxiety producing but i know it is time so it is okay. on monday i go get my diabetes tested with the a1c. last time it was 5.4 and my blood sugar was very good.
I gained a little weight so i hope that doesn't effect it.then on wednesday next week i will see the new psychiatrist. that i am anxious about. I don't know what
Dr Estrada will say. He certainly helped me by getting me off of topamax. I feel so much better with more energy and thinking faster and clearer and no brain fog. the welbutrin 300 brand name has really helped my depression big time.

That must have been so upsetting to hear. There are a ton of folks living on their own well into the 80's. It sounds like you are lining things up well great about the topamax being gone and you feel better more clear. sorry about celia's dog was that the one you walked with? does she have other dogs? It is so hard to put down a pet.
you know what it like to lose a pet so you can sympathize with her.
Good luck with your up and coming appointments.
you seem to be doing well.
try to keep yourself busy to keep the worry monster away.

Hey Bobby Sometimes friends just say the wrong things, and push their point. I've been through this many times. It's very disappointing when a friend wounds you verbally. BF

cecilia has another dog named Stella who is 15. she looks and acts like 8. we walked stella and russell.
today i am a mess. I ran into the woman who told me about bellevue for my teeth. yesterday she said it could 240 dollars a visit to the hospital for the teeth. it didn't make sense. why hadn't she told me about that before. she says she pays only 15 dollars. she told me to call them and find out how much they would charge me. I called but i didn't get a call back. I am really upset now.
I am still upset what my friend said the other day. I am scared about having the dentures.

Dear Bobby,

I'm sorry to hear about Cecelia's dog. It was wonderful of you to go with her, I'm sure your presence was a great comfort to her. I am glad she has another dog still. It will help with the grieving.

That is weird about the woman who recommended the clinic not telling you about the costs. Maybe she was distracted or was focused on her own experience at the time. You did the right thing to put in a call. They will call you back and you will get information. Then you can figure out what to do. It might all be just fine, they may say you only have the low copay that other woman has. Try to cross that bridge when you come to it - when you have the information.

You have so much going on right now. I know you have a tendency to worry and that is hard to control. I feel for you. Know that it won't always be like this. You will get through this difficult time.

lots of love

dear waves,
i put in a call to the business office today and asked her about the 240 dollars and she said i only have to pay for the dental services. I am still worried but she should know. I asked her three times. the consult is 60 dollars which i was aware
of.
cecilia feels very sad but she is okay. stella seems to be okay too.
love
