This reminds me of when I was little. I would sometimes build myself an anti-mom shelter in my room, and then go sit in it. I'd use whatever I could find, such as overturned chairs and floating mattresses for the structure, and towels rigged to a drawstring, as a door. I don't know why I felt the need to make myself walls inside walls, but I did.

Waves,

An "anti-mom" shelter even with towel rigged to a draw string That is cool.

I suppose others of us did similar things.
When I was a teenager, the six of us lived in a 1000 (one thousand) square foot house.

When I needed to get away from her, I went somewhere private OUTSIDE.

Hey Mari. That looks like a safe little room. Thank you for showing this to me. That does look affordable for many people. BF

Thumbs up Prepping for Hurricane Season

We have enough water from last year that is not expired yet. GOOD

At the top of my list right now is to do a batter inventory -- check which batteries are not working and replace them.
Hubby does not like to do this because the flashlights and batteris are currently stored in his room with his junk. NEED TO DO

I wish I had a handy first aid kit -- right now stuff like that is scattered rather than being in one handy-dandy spot. NEED TO DO

I hope that cleaning the room I am working on will make things easier in case we have to get around in the dark with no lights. IN PROGRESS

Tongue Summer is rearing its head...

PThhhahahhhuuuuuughhhh.

We just got the first heat wave from Africa.

I had to go fetch the fans from the cellar. Then I proceeded to sweat myself silly trying to get my nighttime one to work without falling apart. Yuck. It is too late to have a shower -- I'd wake everyone.

At least the fan is on now, so I'm a bit cooler (and drier).

Mari

Since it sounds like you have the supplies. Locate a box to put them
in for a first aid kit.

Really is good idea to check batteries. We had a time period this spring
that we would lose our electric almost daily. I know one day Derrick had
some trouble finding us two flashlights that worked.
When we had lights again. He wanted us to buy some good batteries.
So we did. He is kind of in charge of double checking them now.

It is pouring today, hoping that my mothers roof got fixed yesterday as they were expecting rain today as well.
The roofers took forever to get to them and do this job!!!!

Its been raining in my part of Indiana off and on the last evening an
today.

I really know what you mean taking a long time to get to someone.
Its happening everywhere in Indiana.

My sister's house in Kokomo still isn't completely fixed from the tornado.
The contractor is in for a rude awakening I believe. She is planning to turn them in.

Just for the way they have done things. And some other problems they have had with them. They had to find different people, themselves for parts of it. It should have been contractors job to locate.
