Gosh I remember growing up the day of he solstice spending every hour I could in the sun. The start o my baby oil tan on a sheet that looked like aluminum foil. Now it is bout covering up and SPF.
My maternal great grandmother was Cherokee and by osmosis I tan, lol. Now dd I have to keep covered and plastered with strong sunscreen. The second day at sea it was cool on the deck and dd came out after 2pm to sit with me on the deck. She had a sleeveless dress on. After a half hour I told her to let me rub sun screen on, I had. 50 SPF in my bag, too late. She burnt so bad it blistered up on her right shoulder. Really nasty burn, I know know to cover her even if she is out a short time. I had a lower SPF on and my shoulders really got red where I lowered my straps and my nose/forehead burnt. I think I over did though, I wanted to get he darkest color I could with the least SPF. At least I resisted the urge to lay out on he deck all day. ![]()
