Default My day's plans got changed ugh!

I had a really nice day planned. But alas when you have pets things change.

At least it wasn't as serious as I was worried it was going to be.

Wendy has had a eye that was closing for the last day. But we thought it
just needed to rest. Today she looked awful. I wasn't sure but was afraid
it was going to need surgery.

It turned out its very badly infected.

The drama though was I wasn't having much luck getting her into a vet.

Our local one was to full supposedly. It was the idiot that didn't like
Derrick. She technically didn't even want to ask the doc if she would
work her in.

So I just started of in my car. And was headed to the Purdue clinic
that sees sick kitties. Overnight and weekends.

But I wasn't sure were it was. So I stopped were she originally
had her cherry eye fixed many years ago. And the vet technically
had saved her life when she got the mysterious illness a few years ago.

And they chose to take her in and help me. Instead of just telling me
how to get to the clinic.

In the end, She got cleaned up, and seen. But the doctor couldn't
see in the eye well. Just could tell it was very infected.

So we came home with a:
Antibiotic, A pain med, And a ointment for the eye.

And a appointment for Monday.

With the instructions to probably go buy a muzzle because she is so sore
that it would probably be necessary for the ointment.

They had to use one.

So I am nervous but much happier hours later.

I then got home, about the time they would close. And had left the ointment
there. The most important thing. They had been trying to call me.

And when I got them, because they were closing they were going to tape
it to the door.

Yay, what a nice vet.

Donna,

That was a long day!
Did they really leave the ointment for you on the door? That is so fantastic.

I hope Wendy has a full recovery.

Wow Donna,

what a day, Donna, and poor kitty.

You did very well getting to the vet and getting all the supplies.

That is a nice vet indeed, to want to tape the ointment to the door in case you didn't make it in time. LOL. I am glad he tended your cat.

Yep they did.

And I'm so glad she tended to her also.

She is still sleeping most of the time. And the eye is very swollen.

But I am glad it looks a little better.

Today wasn't the best of news!

Wendy's eye is a lot better with the infection. But it still
has a lot. She also has a really bad big cherry eye. that
the doctor feels will probably have to be taken out next
week. She says its taking over the whole eye.

Which I had already thought was the case.
She also feels there is a good chance there is a corneal ulcer
under the cherry eye. So it needs to be taken care of too.

So she hopefully wont go blind.

So we will keep working with her for the next week. And she
also put a cone on her head.

Which we thought would upset her. But I personally think
she is much happier at peace. I think its taken some of
the pain away. Weird as that seems to me.
